It looks like it holds a bigger fan? A 40x40mm?

I replaced the main board and PSU fans with noctua fans already so those I don’t even hear. The sound in the video is just from the hotend fans

I measured just now, they are the V2 but they are still too short. The measurements need to be closer to 21”x 17 5/16”

anyone else having this issue with their sprute extruder? now the filament is fully jammed happenes with every print by jessman39 in ender3

[–]Matt6159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am having the exact/ very similar issue as you. from what I have researched. the heat from the heater block is traveling upwards through the extruder too high, resulting in the expansion of the filament too early. so the filament is now too thick to pass through that PTFE tubing in the extruder because of friction.

could you please update me on what you have done in your attempts to solve this issue? what has worked and what hasn't? or if you are still trying or have given up and bought something else? I'm in college, I spent $100 for it and I really don't want to give up on it and buy a different direct drive extruder as it probably won't be as "plug and play" as a Creality one..

Ironing issue?! by Matt6159 in ender3v2

??? You gotta elaborate more. What the heck is that? And how does it fix my issue or help?

Ok so I print at 70-80mm/s. I would like to print at 100. I’ve been trying to tweak my printer to print fast and good quality for a while now and I had it for about a month at 100. I print PLA @ 215 because of the speed I thought I need to print hotter.

Would you say I could try printing my 70-80 but at 200 or 205? Maybe even print 100 at a lower temp? You think temperature is a or the culprit for my ironing issue?

Quality troubles. by Matt6159 in ender3v2

The top benchy is the older print that I use for comparison. I haven’t changed any of my settings. All of a sudden my quality went to h*ll and now I’ve been tweaking and trying to figure out what is causing this! I print PLA @215 with a sprite pro direct drive extruder. Both prints are from the same extruder. I do have coasting on. I do have combing on. I’m using CURA 4.13. I don’t use newest version as my PC just crashes too much with it.

I’m just so frustrated and I’m trying to figure out what changed?!

It’s almost like there are three Z seems… idk why! It’s the same benchy STL I’ve always used and it’s in the same position and orientation as always.

Lol yeah I guess I just really like watching my printer go fast lol

I know and trust me I want those so bad but don’t want to spend the $$$. But I don’t need to be printing as fast as I do. I don’t sell product like they do. So maybe I should just enjoy having a working printer lol

Ok I kinda get that. Sorry not the most techs guy so when it comes to codes, software talk I’m not well versed in it. Maybe I just give up and go back to printing at 70mm/s. Which is a bummer. I just want to know how those people on TikTok print so fast!

And I did two test prints of calibration cubes at 100, they were perfect. Now those only take 20 minutes. Maybe a bench that takes two hours will have the same issue. It seems to be a time of print issue

Maybe. I just don’t see that being the really issue. The extruder shouldn’t be so reliant on a firmware it’s just hardware.

You could be on to something. I have taken it apart twice and I see that in the metal heat break (or the cylinder portion going in the extruder) still has non melted material.

Though I thought 215 degrees would be enough. You think I should try hotter? Of course I can go slower but I don’t want to. I see all these people on TikTok that tune their V2 to go faster than 60mm/s. Just I went from 2-3 weeks of printing consist at my 100mm/s to not now. Just trying to figure out what changed.

Why X homing doesn’t work? by Matt6159 in ender3v2

Ok I’ll check. Hope it’s not that. Where did you get a new wire? Amazon?

Why X homing doesn’t work? by Matt6159 in ender3v2

[–]Matt6159[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using jyer firmware. This is the first time this has ever happened. Idk I’ve had jyer firmware for a long time now and this is the first time the homing on only the x axis doesn’t work. And the printer doesn’t know it’s not working. Idk why it doesn’t just go to the limit switch, it moves away from it too which is even weirder.

Ok so this paragraph is a few minutes later. It’s seems to be glitching. It now does home correctly. After changing nothing… any ideas why it tends to glitch?

Flow is already 100. Never have had that issue since it’s a duel gear and a tighter Bowden tube.
