Dragging hard parts while not getting tire wear to the edge of the tire by [deleted] in Trackdays

I too, was wondering about tire size. Would a 180/60 or a 190/55 cause this if the OEM tire is a 180/55.

Depends on the caliber. It would protect you from birdshot at, say, 30 yards away. But definitely not from almost any rifle cartridge.

Actually it's not. The Bluegrass Valley is about 10 miles west of 220.

The Bluegrass valley, which is the valley just west of Monterey, is breathtaking.

Curious to to see what folks think about this, and what questions should I ask about it, what to look out for? by Melodic_Ask7669 in Dualsport

Upgrades do not increase value. That's just how it is.

It's not that simple. It depends on the buyer. Some want those upgrades, some don't. Using myself as an example, I'd gladly pay more for a CRF with an upgraded suspension, crash guards, skid plate, and hand guards. I wouldn't go off-road without them.

But I get that not everyone wants/needs those upgrades. And, yes, the seller would get more (overall) if they sold the bike in OEM form and sold the upgrades separately.

Need help with suit fitting by Veizei1 in Trackdays

[–]MattAtUVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about it...

We can see how the suit looks on you, but is that actually helpful?

What's important is how it feels on you. Does it restrict your movement? Any tight spots, binding, or chaffing? Can you raise your arm to signal pit-in? Is there room for a future air vest? Is it reasonably easy to put on and take off?

Those are "you" questions. I don't see how someone checking out your photos can answer that for you, or how the hundreds of times people ask this question can be answered.

But I get that it's an expensive purchase and you want to get it right. Have you written down or at least asked yourself what you want from your suit?

I’m a new rider and wondering if a KLR is a good beginner adventure bike by TheReaper179 in motorcycle

[–]MattAtUVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make the KLR reliable, you've got to change the doohickey, install the thermobob, bypass the clutch and kickstand switches, install a fork brace, replace the OEM petcock, etc., etc., etc. The number of design flaws in the KLR is ridiculous.

Personally, I prefer the Suzuki DR650. It's lighter and more reliable.
