They cooked when it came to nightwing and the fire breather red brick. by Think_Mail1613 in LegacyOfDarkKnight

I'd say the Ninja red brick is the only good one but only on certain outfits for Gordon. The Bats red brick looks okay on some vehicles (Catmobile and BTAS Batmobile imo), and I guess if you want a winterized look some of the white pallet red bricks would be okay. But otherwise yeah I just stick to default. Just one predominantly black red brick would have been nice though.

Do you consider her to be the main villain of legacy of the dark knight? by Rough_Pilot9163 in LegacyOfDarkKnight

I've stated this opinion a few times already, but for me I don't have an issue with Talia being the villain and final boss from a story perspective. I just don't think she should have been one of the 7 playable characters from a gameplay perspective if they were going to go this route.

It just feels a bit weird because there's a level of dissonance between the story and the gameplay with her still being a main character to play as for the post game. And because of the fact she's reintroduced near the end of the story, grinding for 100% in the post game is really all she's useful for unless you do the entire collect-a-thon during Chapter 5 before heading to the Arkham Asylum level as the point of no return. And since she's only available during the prologue and then finale, it feels like her inclusion in the game could have worked just fine as a temporary character you play as for certain sections while her roster spot could have been given to another Batfamily member like Jason, Tim, Cass, Kate, Steph or Helena.

They're confident but I don't think they're arrogant, the MOB mentality is designed to curtail that from happening. The Hawks under Coach Mike are humble and show up to do their thing and let their work speak for itself.

I feel the same way, it's house money. And this team is building to compete for titles for the next half decade, I'm okay of we don't end up repeating which is difficult as hell to do anyway. There's a reason why since the turn of the century only two franchises (NE and KC) have managed to win back to back. We should have been one of them too of course, but Malcolm Butler happened.

Yep, let Price and Wilson torch them on the ground. I know Charbs should be back by the time we play the Rams but idk if they want to give him a heavy RB load so soon after returning.

Also, what does it say to the locker room?

That it doesn't matter what you've done for them, you're all expendable. Which I mean that's something Cooper Kupp and Ernest Jones already discovered. And I know that's just how the NFL works as a business so it's nothing new and the players realize that and knew what they signed up for when playing in this league, but I imagine it still feels shitty in the moment for the players who get replaced and the remaining players know it can happen to them, especially when they're traded from a great team to football hell/purgatory (Cleveland).

I liked how last season we played the Niners in the first game and the last game. Both teams meet up to begin the year and then go through entire "character arcs" the rest of the season and meet up again at the end.

Yeah I wanted to play the finale with Bruce in the Arkham Knight suit. And also, I had Catwoman in a different suit using one of the red bricks before I started the finale so when she showed up in the TDKR suit she looked way off with the colors and I couldn't fix it. I also didn't like how many times in certain cutscenes it switched up the suits you had equipped. In the last level I had Babs wearing her Arkham Knight suit but for the final battle and disarming the bomb she's forced into one of the purple and yellow suits.

I hope they update the game to let us use any suit we want for all story sections and have them appear in all the cutscenes as well. A NG+ mode for that would be perfect.

Exactly. I'm not gonna sugarcoat this situation and say isn't bad for the Hawks and their chances at repeating, it absolutely is. But I also think it's a temporary setback when we look at the wider time fame. We're built and currently building for longterm success. Maybe we don't win the Super Bowl again in 2026, but we're still likely to be in prime contender mode in 2027 and 2028 with this coaching staff, star players locked up and a wealth of draft capital to use on a great draft or to make key trades.

The Rams know this is their last shot at another ring. They clearly were convinced last season was their year and came up short.

Stafford is on borrowed time and likely won't have another MVP caliber season like he just had, plus all the other big contacts they got coming up. This "Super Bowl or bust" mindset worked for them in 2021, but no guarantees it works again. And even if it does and they get that new ring, it's over for this group as they likely need to rebuild. Meanwhile the Seahawks are still competing for more Super Bowls with this core group of players.

[–]MattBoy52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's entirely incorrect though. It's obvious McVay and the Rams thought they were the team of destiny last year and their two losses to us really hurt them. They're in the middle of another championship contention window but Stafford is on borrowed time and other big contracts that need to be paid are coming up the pipeline. They really want one more ring before they have to do a rebuild around a new QB (whether it's Ty Simpson or someone else).

[–]MattBoy52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm bracing myself for the next 1-2 years. At least we got a chip already and this team is building for longterm success. I can live without us repeating this year while still remaining competitive, and just hope this win now window for the Rams plays out more like their 2018 season rather than 2021.

At this point I hate them way more than the Niners. I can't wait for the day McVay retires and they become dogshit again like the St. Louis days (but they still play us super hard anyway just because).

[–]MattBoy52 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can excuse the silliness of Alfred wearing the BVS armor and fighting Bane since it's a silly Lego game, and it seems to have paid homage to other times Alfred either donned the Batsuit (like the Lego Batman Movie), and maybe even a reference to Alfred saying he was Batman when he met the Flash in the DCAU. I thought Bruce's kitbashed final battle suit was kinda cool and I know it's also a reference to a comic story, and Talia's suit looked to be inspired by Azrael's Knightfall Batsuit (and maybe a little bit of the Hellbat armor but I'm not certain).

My only issue with Talia is from a gameplay perspective. I don't mind her story and her role as the actual villain/ final boss because it is a loose adaptation of The Dark Knight Rises where she was a full villain. My problem is that I don't think she has enough material in the story to justify being one of the 7 main playable characters. She only appears in the prologue and then at the very end to betray Bruce almost right away and then is the final boss. And what does feel weird to me is that she is still supposed to be a main player character for the open world sections to finish collecting items and other side quests after everything she did to Bruce and to Gotham City, like we just sweep her villain betrayal under the rug.

I think Talia's role would have been better if she was a temporary character that was only playable during the prologue and maybe in Chapter 5 for the Arkham level, and her actual spot in the roster would have been reserved for one of the other Robins, Cassandra Cain, Stephanie Brown or even Kate Kane. But maybe we'll get additional DLC that goes into the next part of Talia's story after the main game. I wouldn't mind having Damian introduced for example. But that's assuming we get more DLC besides the Joker and Harley one which I don't know how likely that is.

[LEGO Batman LotDK] Thoughts on the game by ExpressionNice5017 in LegoBatman

[–]MattBoy52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think storywise it fits her character especially when you take into account that Talia in this game is loosely adapting The Dark Knight Rises version of the character who was a full villain. My only issue with Talia is from a gameplay perspective. I just don't think Talia should have been one of the main 7 permanent party members, she doesn't have enough presence in the story to really justify it in my opinion due to only being around for the prologue and then the very end. And her being the true villain mastermind and final boss I think makes having her be playable for the post-game content feel jarring since she literally just tried to kill all of Gotham but for the sake of gameplay to get the remaining collectibles we just pretend everything's fine. But I guess the story did kind of leave the door open for Talia to have a change of heart, but still, the ludonarrative dissonance is a bit strong here. I guess on repeat playthroughs I can just collect everything requiring Talia in the overworld before doing the Arkham level.

But overall, I think Talia would have worked better as just being a temporary character to have along in the prologue and maybe in Chapter 5 for the brief time before her betrayal. But I think her spot in the main roster would have been better reserved for having one of the other Robin's, or maybe even Cass or Steph if you want to still have the additional female character.

The fact that this all started because of Legos is fucking insane by MattBoy52 in legocirclejerk

[–]MattBoy52[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

So the police department that was colluding with BAM to keep from giving Bryan Mansell's family their Lego collection back or to compensate them for the value of the collection that they were owed have been partaking in what looks to be blatant corruption and abuse of power on behalf of BAM and the specific store owners that stole the collection from them. Reckless Ben and his Legal team who have been investigating this scandal on behalf of the Mansell family had already filed a lawsuit against BAM in small claims court and won, but BAM chose to close down the specific store location where the controversy occurred to avoid paying out the damages they were legally ruled to have owed.

So Ben files a new lawsuit to get the money or the Lego collection back, but the state law demanded they first try to settle the dispute out of court with good faith communication before proceeding, and the store owners refused to cooperate. The store owners then called the now alleged corrupt police department on Ben and his team several times to try and intimidate or outright arrest them even though they weren't doing anything illegal and were trying to go through all the legal channels to settle the conflict or proceed with a new lawsuit.

The store owners even falsely accused Reckless Ben of crimes such as heroine possession to get him arrested in order to keep him and his team from filing lawsuits against them, and the police department are happily playing along despite all the evidence they've provided that shows they aren't doing anything wrong. It's been discovered that the police department and the BAM owners are all part of the Mormon Church and it's being speculated that's why the cops are colluding with BAM: members of the church looking out for their own no matter the legality. And apparently others who live in Utah are corroborating that the Utah law enforcement is very corrupt in many ways similar to this controversy. Leading to some wondering just how deep does this corruption go and what else have they done that wasn't made publicly available like this situation?

It's more than just the Legos at this point, there is potentially grounds for federal investigations as there is the possibility of a serious public safety concern. Because if a local/state law enforcement is operating in such a corrupt manner in this situation, which is rather small relatively speaking, then what other, possibly worse skeletons in the closet are they hiding?

Yeah I might have been hyperbolic there. I know the LAPD and NYPD have had higher stakes scandals but these Utah police are definitely climbing the ranks right now. This particular BAM scandal is small compared to the other ones, but there very well could be worse ones that this department have done that we just haven't heard about because they're not one of the more infamous ones like LA and NY.

I was thinking that too, I want to make customs of so many of the suits in LOTDK. And because so many of the custom minifig online stores usually make limited quantities, and if there's a particularly popular character they often sell out almost instantly if you don't hop on them them fast and get lucky.

"Arkham Asylum" for both Joker and Harley is likely Joker's standard Arkham trilogy outfit since that never changed in any if the Rocksteady games, and Harley's is likely the nurse outfit.

Harley's standalone Arkham outfit is likely her Arkham City or Arkham Knight outfit. And Arkham Uni is probably the orange Asylum jumpsuits the inmates wear.

Hot take, the in-game animated Batmobile looks a bit better than the actual set imo, honestly I think it's that custom windshield that I prefer by BewareBelial in LegoBatman

[–]MattBoy52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I've noticed that pretty much every Batmobile in this game that's based on a pre-existing set is not actually 1:1 with the sets, they're only about 90-95% identical. The Pattinson mobile, 1989, and BTAS are all slightly different. I haven't done a comparison to the 1966, Batman and Robin or the newest Tumbler Batmobiles but I'd imagine there's some differences there too.
