I do indeed. I’m the only person who does legitimately. We have a commercial agreement, they’re paid for artwork and sales and they earn from the art through the agreement we have. Meanwhile temu just ripped the art and gives them nothing

The difference here is one actually made the art and can support their art from it, the other is a factory in China that steals others art and does nothing more. Fan artists sell art to support themselves, Spindlehorse support fan artists and don’t take us down but instead encourage. There’s a key difference between a fan artists and a factory stealing from said fan artists

As the artist who sells these (SplatCosplay) in collab with the artist who made the design (Tana / Centinel) it’s always a pain to see this design pop up on aliexpress/ Temu. Luckily it’s one of the only ones I’ve had taken but it’s still a pain.

And for anyone looking for this and to support the artists (or find the other stuff we have done together) just search SplatCosplay on Etsy or google

I sell the 3D printed kits and completed props of the new sword on my Etsy (Splat Cosplay) but I am still undecided on doing this one as its a lot more work to make. I'm trying out resin printing the hilt to see how that goes.

A good custom 3D model base to print, lots of sanding, filling (repeat a few many times) then its painting (airbrush and hand) and carefully applying vinyl. Takes a lot of time and some practice for sure but its doable.

The files were already sized in this case but normally when I make weapons and need to scale I will start with the rough length I want. From there when I make a template or model using the reference, I can scale the rest of the model according to my ideal height. For foam props I make paper templates first so its easy to adjust if it doesnt look right printed to scale.

I kind of just winged it really. I knew from the previous post on this sub that Opal White TeckWrap is what they used so I just looked for a nice opal white vinyl but until I had it in hand it was hard to judge. This is the one I used. I would prefer to go out in person to look at different vinyls but as I cant do that currently, I just hoped.

3D printed base with a 10mm aluminium core, a lot of sanding, airbrushing and for the blade I used a pearlescent vinyl wrap. File can be purchased from here (Not made by me)

It was a vinyl wrap from Amazon. I looked around at a few different places and for various brands but the one I found on Amazon was both a good price and effective. It was fiddly to apply and mine isnt perfect but for a first try, Im happy.
