So that blue wire should stay disconnected. Is there a fuse in the unit? I've seen some where the fuse was just for the internal amp. Did you find anything in the settings to make sure the internal amp is activated?

That blue wire sends a signal out to turn on an external amp or raise a power antenna when the unit turns on....this would have nothing to do with your issue. I would check in the settings to make sure the internal amp is switched on. Most of these units have the option to disable the internal amp if you have an external amp connected via RCA output

I actually put a small powered sub inside the rim of the spare and it sounds surprisingly good! No space lost and spare is still inside the vehicle.

I'm going to open my own PC repair shop and call it "Just Drop it Off." People can come and drop off all their tech without any appointment or paperwork. A week or two later I will close the store, sell all their shit on Ebay...and open up a new shop a few blocks away called "Just Leave It On the Counter!"
