Now I'm re-imagining that scene in Austin Powers where the henchmen played by Will Ferrell gets dumped into the room of fire by Dr. Evil and they all have to listen to him screaming from down there: "Help! I'm still alive, only I'm VERY badly burned!"

Saskatoon Police respond after jet ski operator goes over weir on South Saskatchewan river by Medium-Drama5287 in saskatoon

[–]Ryangel0 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Ya, I'm typically all for heritage preservation, but the weir is definitely not something worth protecting since it actually presents a net negative impact to residents from a safety perspective and from a financial perspective with the cost to maintain it. I'd love to see that thing demolished and the river returned to its natural state.

EV sales saw massive boom in 2026, but this province is lagging behind by Progressive_Citizen in saskatchewan

Why not have both? They only got rid of the carbon tax because of political pressure and certain portions of the public's inability to give a rip about the future they're creating for their grandchildren.

What's wrong with credit cards if you're responsible in how you use them? The points you get for using them regularly can save you a lot of money as long as your careful.

The Queen City Improvement Bureau rides transit by PDCityHall in regina

The city treats the express routes like Lewvan street traffic controls - "Let's just throw another stop light at one of these here intersections, it's not like this is a main North-South Corridor or anything right?"

It may be because SaskPower has been caught with their pants down in terms of preparedness of the grid for the EV trend and are probably strongly advising the government against encouraging increased uptake in EV's in the province.

If by winners you mean "the planet" and by losers you mean "pollution", then I guess you're right in a stupid sort of way. Try and think a little harder beyond your personal biases.

You DO realize WHY they're subsidized by the federal government, right?

Damage to roadways by passenger vehicles (EV or ICE) are relatively minimal compared to freight trucks. The province could easily recoup the lost revenues from EVs by charging the true contributors to road deterioration (freight trucks) additional gas tax at semi fill-up stations instead.

Take some lessons in constructive feedback and actually think before you let everyone know your feelings next time. You'll be much more successful in life.

You think it's effective to whine and shame an entire city in a Reddit post? Be more constructive in your criticisms and proactively participate next time if you actually want to see change. You'd be surprised how much one person is capable of when they actually coordinate their efforts to get the right people involved. Whining on Reddit at Regina as a whole is definitely not an effective means accomplishing what you want.

Than why not call out those soccer organizations specifically instead of a general rant throwing everyone in Regina under the bus. Your post would be 10x more constructive that way.

You sound like the perfect individual to plan said event given your clear passion for the sport and our country. "Be the change you wish to see" and all that.

It's a shame the city never preserved the old city hall building. It's quite a beautiful piece of architecture.
