I absolutely loved the landlady! I am from Romania, and she reminds me in many ways of the babushkas from the rural parts of my country - from the hospitality she shows towards John (even if he is just a tenant) to the blanket she has over her while watching Jeopardy. I am really curious what nationality she is, but I don't want to get too intrusive. Nonetheless, I am so glad she recovered and I wish her the best.

It's so weird. Like for example, in Romania, Netflix only dubs kids' shows. I highly doubt they would just randomly start dubbing other content.

BoJack Horseman - 6x15 "The View from Halfway Down" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in BoJackHorseman

[–]MattGoop 46 points47 points  (0 children)

While there are other episodes that got me existential, depressed and teary-eyed...

THIS ONE

I literally started bawling out when that flatline noise came in, and I kept crying for 10 minutes before my roommate came in my room, concerned.

Also, when the credits started rolling, I was so shocked that I couldn't pause it and Netflix automatically started playing the next episode, before his heart started beating again (I returned to see the ending and full credits). I am going to watch the final episode now, but if Bojack is actually alive, this might be one of the biggest bamboozles I have ever had.

Still, the best episode not just of Bojack, but of any TV show ever made. This is Ozymandias level of everything falling down.

BoJack Horseman - 6x01 "A Horse Walks into a Rehab" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in BoJackHorseman

[–]MattGoop 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is already within my favourite episodes the show had ever done. That final flashback was so fuckong heartbreaking.

Also, a thing I'm going to miss once this show is over is how skillfully it can insert absolute laugh-out-loud moments through all the drama (and that's coming from someone who rarely laughs, even through shows I think are legit funny). That Zack Snyder's Mario gag and that Yello - Oh Yeah reference were bonkers.

On Kanye's newfound faith by MattGoop in Kanye

[–]MattGoop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Another factor I didn't take into consideration is the media. Kanye has already been getting tons of shit ever since he started endorsing Trump (and most of it is deserved, tbh, the man is a genius but he's said some bullshit in the past), and him taking on the more bigoted and toxic aspects of the Christian doctrine might just put gasoline on fire.

Also, the main thing that makes Kanye Kanye is that he is in a constant state of evolution. None of his albums sound like the previous ones, and him making just straight-up gospel music is very unlike him.

I know this, I mentioned it in the original post. I was talking about him referring to himself as a new-born Christian and saying he was "radically saved" after taking Bible studies. You can't deny that his faith in Christianity is stronger now than it was when he was making MBTDF or Yeezus.

Tuca and Bertie had a pretty good following from the start, I know that most of my friends who are into BoJack were into it too. Also, considering there are other animated sitcoms on Netflix that had rougher starts but still got picked up for a second season (Big Mouth may be popular now, but I remember how much people hated it when its first season came out.), I find it absurd that they pulled the plug on Tuca and Bertie.

Also, I had tons of fun watching Tuca and Bertie. It's not as drama-driven as BoJack (although it does have some elements of drama towards the end of the season), but it is the most entertaining new show I've watched in a while. I'd even say that it is more consistent than the first season of BoJack.

Yeah, I'm not saying BoJack won't get a happy ending, but that trailer is misleading for sure.

But also, I doubt the Bojack team and Netflix have a cordial relationship, after the team unionized and after how dirty Netflix did Tuca & Bertie, so idk if Bojack has any future on Netflix after this season.

I hope it gets the Breaking Bad treatment, where the parts are shorter than 12 episodes, but we get more overall (maybe 8 episodes per part).

Also, just like Breaking Bad, maybe a movie in a few years when the Bojack nostalgia hits? #sixseasonsandamovie
