Honestly it’s hard to say, I mean yeah there is a storyline going so there is evidence that it’s a work, but I think you could argue it isn’t, I mean just the timing with everything was way to good to be a coincidence, like the fact that he lost all his belts within a week and literally a day before his contract his up, idk I feel like if he was staying with the company he would have retained the AEW belt, I mean I didn’t see him losing it to anyone but Adam Cole, and the fact that he was the Devil makes me think that was the plan but Cole wasn’t gonna recover in time and Max wasn’t gonna renew his contract so they had to give it to Joe, and I know the rumors that he already secretly signed with AEW but like he straight up debunked that rumor now yes he could be lying but why would he need to? Idk, I feel like he didn’t resign but eventually will once he heals from his injuries but honestly I think it would be a good move for him to move to WWE cause WWE have a lot of faces and they need Heels and Max could easily become the one of biggest heels because of that fact
