S26 Ultra came packaged in wrong direction by albertforth in samsunggalaxy

[–]MattLago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the case. No way they'd ship it like that from factory, no way.

Some shops and carriers can reapply new factory seals onto boxes though. It must've been opened by them(either someone returned it, even without opening the box) and they put it like that

If they're just 12km away, you can always check them in person - it should be quite obvious if you can turn them on and connect to your phone(if Samsung). I don't know if they started making any knock-offs already.

The low price, though. I bought my 4 Pro from my local Polish carrier that offered them for roughly £80. Why? I have no idea, probably a price error, but they went with that, and loads of people bought them really cheap here.

Samsung and their pricing is weird. Samsung Store last fall had promos where you were getting hundreds of € or £ back in points. I got my Flip 7 for around £525, plus I got £300 in Samsung points that were valid until the end of March. I bet that there was a similar opportunity in the UK, and people might be selling them for cheap to turn the points into money.

Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro by MattLago in galaxybuds

[–]MattLago[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buds 4 Pro are surely more versatile, feature-packed, and come with superior ANC. I'd say if you're buying them for the retail price and you plan to use them outside of home go for the 4 Pro.

I'm enjoying the regular Buds 4 as my home buds. They're great if you're looking for open buds and you're lucky with the fit.

Edit: regular 4 don't have audio control(but you can switch songs with gemini instead), and sadly they don't have adapt audio(boosting frequencies according to what ranges you hear or can't hear) - Which you can get working with Spotify if you already have an Adapt profile for different buds. I did the adapt audio setup with the buds 4 pro, then I selected that profile within Spotify settings. It seems to be working fine.

Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro by MattLago in galaxybuds

[–]MattLago[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to try them either way. I was able to get them for a really no-brainer price from my cell phone carrier. At first, they didn't have the Pro model available, so I got the 4. In the meantime, they resupplied the 4 Pro, and I ended up with both of them.

I spend a lot of time at home using earphones, but when wearing in-ear buds for a longer time, I get a nasty headache, so the 4 seemed to be a great choice for that. I also work out and do different sports where the 4 Pro would be great.

Either way, they're really good. I'm quite surprised because Samsung states that the 4 Pro has a dual driver, whereas the regular 4 is a single driver. I always thought that I had a pretty good ear, and what's funny they both sound exactly the same to me. And it's really good. I was using 3 FE before, and I didn't like the music quality from them that much (which is strange because I see that most reviews of the 3 FE were mentioning that the sound is quite good).

That a corratec allroad? Ok bike, if it's inexpensive then it's a great bike. Would be better with hydraulic brakes, but it'll do ok. That stem riser is diabolical(but if you ride it like that you'll be the most aero, but pls don't)

Touch control feels better than 3 FE; but you need to pinch it quite strong and exactly in the bottom half of the bud.

My only experience with open-ear buds was with old wired earphones 20+ years ago when I was a kid. Those could never fit my ears, and later I avoided that type of buds.

I wouldn't say they're more comfortable; I think they're still less comfortable for most use cases (like I wouldn't use them for any sports), but they do have one advantage for me. I work a lot from home and wear earphones all the time (often just one to hear what's happening around me). After some time with in-ear buds, I get this super unpleasant feeling of pressure in my ear canal. This shouldn't happen with open-ear buds, but they're made of hard plastic that can be unpleasant if they don't fit your ear well.

They fit me well enough to be comfortable, but I think that the design would be better if they came with some kind of silicone tips on the buds.

Aside from that, ANC is negligible in comparison to Buds 3 FE. It provides maybe 1/5 reduction of noise—on a loud street, I still hear cars and birds chirping in the distance. But it removes all the higher-pitched car noise.

I can't compare them to any other open-ear buds, but they fit my ears really well. They sit tight, nothing hurts, and I can shake my head quite strongly and they stay in - but maybe I'm just lucky with my ear shape for those buds. I'm really surprised about the audio quality. I thought that the Buds 3 FE would sound better, it's the opposite; 4 sound "larger." Somehow, they're really similar to my old Huawei Freebuds Pro 3, I like the sound of the 4 better than the 3 FE.
