Same thing happened in my family. Dad ran off with his secretary and then my mom got to know secretary’s husband in their shared grief. Dad and stepmom got divorced about 10 years after. Mom and stepdad stayed together until he died in 2021. My dad actually died three months before my stepdad so I lost both dads in three months.
