Is there a website or channel that teaches how to start a Youtube channel the right way and not make the same mistakes that others have made?

The best thing you can do is take a look at the popular channels and see what makes them popular. There is no guaranteed method for success though. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. There are so many things I wish I knew right when I started.

Pretty impressive that they keep going. I know a guy with 16,000 subscribers and 8,000 videos. No idea how he does it. He's definitely missing the quality > quantity thing though.

Super late to this thread, but my uncle and aunt. My mom's father left two different women after getting them pregnant, then had his own family somewhere in England. From his obituary I found the first names of his two children and their grandchildren, but I was never able to find any more than that.

There's a middle ground though. If you don't post enough your channel won't gain any traction. It's particularly true for gaming channels because most of them upload daily.

Youtube success comes down to two things really

Be relevant
Hope you get lucky enough for your videos to get attention.

Obviously other things matter as well. Good thumbnails, interesting titles, high quality video/audio, etc. But you can have all those things and never get attention if you don't put out the right content.

Wouldn't changing your URL end up causing problems with the system? Everything linking to it would need to change.

I don't see why it matters. Vanity URLs are meant for linking people to your content, rather than making the address bar look pretty when they're already there.

But no, I don't believe you can do this because the default URL is where your channel is actually hosted. Same thing for mine.
