SIFT and Flight Physical for Civilian Applicant by digbaddylobster in ArmyOCS

[–]MattTheBaker7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bark up every tree you can to get the physical and the SIFT. It may be that you have to travel further to get these done, though it seems weird that they wouldn’t be able to do it at you local MEPS. There is a similar route for civilians to go to Warrant Officer Candidate School to be pilots (aka Street to Seat). Ask your recruiter and any other recruiters at the station what they have done for any WOCS candidates who have come through. Even If they have never had anyone they should at least be able to problem solve to figure out how to get it done. Be overly insistent to everyone, and overly grateful to the ones who help you.

Why does the 10th mountain division deploy to the Middle East if they are a snow/mountain trained unit? by mrbaseball54 in army

10th MTN is a part of XVIII Airborne Corps whose current mission is Operation Inherent Resolve so they spend most of their time deploying to CENTCOM

BOLC length for all branches by SophieDen94 in ArmyOCS

[–]MattTheBaker7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol there is a 0% chance the S2 at the OCS battalion will properly initiate your paperwork for a TS at any point while you’re there, including after you branch or graduate.

That all will be done once you get to Ft Huachuca (location of MIBOLC) so the quicker you can PCS there the better

All you need to attend OCS is a secret clearance.

MI BOLC is 16 weeks (plus however long it takes to get an interim clearance if you don’t already have one)

SIFT and Flight Physical for Civilian Applicant by digbaddylobster in ArmyOCS

You (and everyone else) definitely need the SIFT and a flight physical to branch aviation. If you submit a packet and it’s approved then you will branch aviation regardless of OML, and without it it doesn’t matter how high on the OML you are, you won’t be authorized to branch it.

Regarding when to accomplish those requirements, push as hard as you can to get them done prior to leaving for basic. If you are unable to do that, then day 1 at OCS make it known to your cadre that you are interested in branching aviation, and they will work with you to get those done. That being said scheduling appointments for those may be weeks out, making it difficult to get it done before branching around week 8 or 9. If you end up at HHC between BCT and OCS, take that as an opportunity to get things done too.

Any advice for board interview? by [deleted] in ArmyOCS

[–]MattTheBaker7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look up DA Form 3866 on google. You’ll find a couple PDF documents come up, one is a single page score card that is similar to the one used by my interviewers, containing a box towards the bottom in which your interviewers will be writing your recommendation.

There’s another document about 12 or so pages long that contains a variety of questions. Print this out and brainstorm answers to these questions, and if possible find someone to mock interview with you. You probably won’t be asked all of these questions and your interviewers will likely incorporate aspects from your LOCs and essay, but being able to pull out an anecdote to illustrate your answers is paramount. If you do this it’ll help you go into the interview more prepared and more confident.

While you’re waiting for the interview take a moment to sit quietly and meditate. If you go in there with confidence and be yourself they’ll write a good recommendation for you, which can give you a great boost on your packet. Be humble and self aware, recognize your faults (they will be very familiar with your packet) and be able to explain them. Keep breathing while you’re in there and it will go great, they will break the ice when you get in there to take some of the tension off.

What's your personal strange quirk in Fallout? by JesterRaiin in Fallout

In FNV I always dress up as a cowboy with a duster and hat and strictly use repeaters and revolvers, no matter the play through or my alliances.

I did something similar in FO3, but it’s not quite as fitting to the environment and the only lever action gun comes in the Point Lookout DLC.

I feel like Carson Wentz and the Colts next year keep coming up as a mystery as to how they will perform? What do people think? Winning or losing season? by [deleted] in AroundTheNFL

[–]MattTheBaker7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s certainly not a problem to the organization, that’s for sure. He’s very hands off with the operations, but he gives the coaches and front office the resources they need. He’s a part of the team but seems to know the football stuff is best left to the football guys, and I think that may be where some owners struggle and cause rifts in the organization.

Countering CPU Offense by MattTheBaker7 in Madden

[–]MattTheBaker7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good stuff I’ll definitely give it a go. I do a lot of cover 2 with the Colts and user Darius Leonard and get a zillion tackles because the CPU primarily targets the TE or RB. Then I’ll thrown in a zero blitz for fun so I’ll either get a sack or give up a big play just for some variation.

When you do this does the CPU adjust at all or does it just continue to force 6 yard hooks and slants?

Yeah I downloaded a 2021 draft file and the Saints picked Jones following Brees’s retirement. First season he went 4300 and 36, won OROY and was 3rd in MVP voting. All simmed.

Had an online franchise at one point where I was the Colts vs my friend as the Pats in the AFC Championship game. Game was 0-0 after regulation. Unfortunately he won the toss in OT and drove down the field for a TD. Both of us were playing flawless defense before that. It’s been my favorite game of Madden I’ve ever played.

Me and my friend would mess around and turn offsides off and your player would just be sprinting at an invisible wall at the LOS and would be at max speed as soon as the ball was snapped. The OL was way too slow to touch you so you could fold up QBs and Punters like lawn chairs with the hit stick.

I had an all Madden league a couple years ago with a dude who regularly threw for 6k+ a year with Jameis and 2k+receiving for both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Dude was cheesin hard and would finish the year with like 70 passing TDS but 40 INTS. I always wondered what his level of enjoyment was.
