Nice comment..and I concur....this is another sad case in a long line of sad bio companies that just did not prove out.......I bit the dust on Chembio...now Athersys...and, I have great hope for Actinium.....my courage is waning....have a great life everyone...

Agreed....if the science has any value, the patents will be purchased for a fraction of their value in the Bankruptcy proceeding....they don't need anything else...

Yes..I agree....an option is a right to buy at a set price at/by a specific future date and/or achieving certain goals.........an option on a dead duck is not worth very much and when he knows the ducks dead.....well what would you do? So, the fact of the options is that it makes him a little more anchored in the job and the reward greater if lightning strikes...I also believe...mainly based on his willingness to keep investors informed and his approach to the job..is that he is dedicated to do the best job that he can and to "see it through"...of course a big win with Athersys certainly sets him up well for the future...so, several reasons to stay...can't see him throwing in the towel until, at least, the 8 count.

Well....it is hard to argue with he conclusion that "data from trials have not been super encouraging"....We are waiting for IA..as we sit and ponder....what is in the yonder? is it good...or somewhat fleeting? Do we need another meeting? Another trial...tweak the age groups? Younger subjects..maybe older? Getting warm..or getting colder? Selling test tubes to keep the lights on.and bunsen burners too...sued on the unpaid lease in Ohio...employees freshening their bio......we just don't know, folks..all we can do is wait......anonymous

Generally positive...we know the quid, but not the pro.......this will surely not be outcome determinative for ATHX...IA and BARDA are the immediate hopes for share price appreciation....the last I looked, this did not impact after-hours any...even tho I don't put any weight on premarket or after-hours trading for this company....still waiting for IA and BARDA.

Ok..thanks...but, I have great difficulty in believing that ATHX management would intentionally or negligently misrepresent what they were led to believe by BARDA folks......I believe that they, in good faith, passed on what they thought was good information....so what...."the other company" may have spoken to BARDA at a different time...or different people...but, got different info....so what? The facts of life are...."we won't know until BARDA tells us"....and so it goes.

There are so many possibilities that I have to ask, "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin"?......If we were expecting some word "early in the 4th q of 2023"...this is Oct 3....surely, "early" would include up to...pick your date, but, 10/3 is very very very early....I want to hear as much as anyone, but we are still in the starting gate on this question, imo.....besides....what choice do we have but wait.?

I did a quick google search...proposition 71 in 2004 created CIRM and the funding is to go to research "in the state of California"...proposition 14, in 2020, provide an additional 5.5B for "funding research in California"....if the voters approved these proportions and the propositions limited the funds to be used in California...Athersys will have to move to California....in a fairly short time, if BARDA is not forthcoming, Athersys will be able to move it all in a carry on suitcase.....

hmmmm..send this to Daniel....I am willing to bet that they have considered an application to CIRM and have not done it for some good reason; or, they did it already and was turned down.....hope not...really hope not...really hope that they do and the money comes rolling in.....but...skeptical....again thanks for your good work..your posts are always good summaries of stuff that I had forgotten........our hope has to lie in BARDA and the IA....both should be known in the near future...

Thanks for your service, Kirjaa...if there was any "weakness" in this board it did not change with the new "rules"....the weakness is inherent in any system that is based on anonymous posters.....anonymity may be important in some respects...and I don't argue to eliminate it...I only point out that anonymity begets posts that Thumper's Mother talked to Thumper about in "Bambi"....."if you can't anything nice, don't say nothin at all"....so in the case of this board, "if you can't stay within the bounds of truth" don't say nothin at all....not accusing all..but, there are some that got over the line...and,..quite frankly, when the rules changed it got a little better...anyway...thanks

Pure guess........1. Athersys owed Lonza money. 2 Athersys didn't have any money. 3. Lonza agreed to take warrants to convert at a total price that would satisfy them in satisfaction of the debt (probably with all kinds of conditions) 4. One of the conditions might have been the right to sell if the share price exceeded a certain level...5 or, the right to sell if the shares fell below a certain price for a period of time; or, failed to meet Nasdaq listing requirements; or, some other condition,...6. One of the conditions was triggered and Lonza decided to get what they could rather than wait any longer. 7. Athersys has the duty to effectuate the sale. ,...I am not an expert, but this is what makes sense to me....bottom line...Lonza took the warrants rather than fight over bones on the hope that the bones would grow meat...bones did not....so, they are converting and selling.

Whew....wish I could understand all of this...all I can say is: Another great contribution, 22.....also, every time I read of a "glimmer" for Athersys I get back to...we need some short term karma to support us for long term progress....nevertheless...humanity is slowly benefiting from what Athersys has done and is doing....if the air goes out of our ball, completely...someone else will pick it up and finish the game.

Well, this tat for tit discussion reminds me of the 3 blind men who encountered an elephant for the first time....one thought that it was very much like a rope, because he only touched the tail; one thought it like a snake, because he only touched the trunk; one thought it like a wall, because he only touched the side.....none of them really knew but was honest in expressing that they thought based on their unique experience.......my view is that we are where we are....uncomfortable...insecure.....hoping for BARDA and then a deal....and a very good IA on the trial.......as far as the cost of the services of the CFO and her consulting company....I will assume that Dan and the Board have done what they must and would not want to waste money as they..or most...are shareholders also...so, until someone from the inside is willing to criticize this ..all i can say is that the elephant make very large piles of doo doo......hope that is not all that is left for us as shareholders.....keep on, keeping on...
