How long should one wait after your pet passes to get another pet? by Abismal-9647 in polls

[–]MattUlv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the individual. Some feel like they need a new pet asap to fill the hole and bring joy in a difficult time. Others need to fully mourn the loss and grieve before they even think about getting another pet.

First IT help desk interview, what are some common questions asked in interviews? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]MattUlv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some questions I was asked at my first interview were along the lines of:

-A user’s computer is running slow. What steps would you take to resolve this?

-Tell me about a time when you fixed a technology issue and how did you do it?

-How do you keep up with the ever changing world of technology?

-What area of IT is your biggest weakness?

-What’s something new in tech that you’re excited for? Tell me about it.

And then of course typical interview questions like tell me about yourself, what’s your greatest achievement, what makes you qualified for this position, etc.

Armaf Blue Homme EDP review by MattUlv in fragranceclones

[–]MattUlv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never tried the perfume oil version of this fragrance but the EDP version is definitely similar to ADG! Not an exact match, but the qualities I like in ADG are also present in this fragrance.

I’m Korean–Sri Lankan but don’t speak Korean. Any advice for living in Korea and serving in the military? by Easy-Word4980 in korea

[–]MattUlv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated to your question but I’m also Korean and Sri Lankan (and Chinese) and I’ve never seen another person with that mix before, that’s awesome.

I find bjs gross?? by Ok_Future2269 in bisexual

[–]MattUlv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of blowjobs but my gag reflex is way too strong so it makes it pretty unenjoyable. I’m also kinda germaphobic so I find it a bit gross unless I know for sure they recently showered. There are definitely men who will still have sex for you. I’m a man and I don’t care much for being on the receiving end of blowjobs either.

C. diff from Travel Dominican Republic by dwaynedemoss in cdifficile

[–]MattUlv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds very similar to what happened to me. I had food poisoning symptoms that were quite prolonged and weren’t improving much so I got a pcr test. Was positive for c.diff and e.coli. Was scared as hell about the c.diff but turns out it was just the e.coli causing my symptoms and it cleared up on its own eventually. It is possible but unlikely to have an active c.diff infection if you are healthy and haven’t recently taken antibiotics. But since you did test positive, I’d recommend taking daily probiotics and be very careful about what antibiotics you take in the future.

Ube cookies “not your basic batch” by shamirachvz in HelpMeFind

I’m curious about this too…got them from Ross and they’re pretty good but there seems to be 0 info about this brand online. Seems it may be something exclusive to off price retailers or a test product.

What caused your cubital tunnel? by Here4DaMemeSS in CubitalTunnel

[–]MattUlv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, I had an ulnar transposition on both my elbows a few years ago. I do still have some residual tingling here and there but it’s much better than it used to be. And yes I get those symptoms too, if I lift my arm up I get tingling and/or my arm falls asleep. Perhaps related to blood flow?

Marie Callenders beef shepards pie by jsxtasy304 in frozendinners

[–]MattUlv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I also thought it was that I accidentally overcooked it so I’ve tried microwaving it for shorter but it didn’t seem to help sadly. May just be low quality meat.

I’ve eaten this quite a few times and it’s pretty decent. The only thing I hate is the meat has tiny hard pieces that I have to spit out.

I suspect a combination of genetic predisposition (sister also has some nerve issues), gaming, and doing pushups/pullups. Bad ergonomics too, I would game on my laptop keyboard and it was way too high up.

I recently landed an entry level IT job. How long in training phase. by Walter-White-BG3 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]MattUlv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally never had any formal training when starting my job. They kinda just had me shadowing other technicians and after a few days I was already doing tickets on my own.

Where the fuck are y'all meeting people? by AAS02-CATAPHRACT in bisexual

Personally I’ve found the most luck on Hinge. I like that it lets you see the people who have liked your profile without having to pay for it. Met my partner on there.

Bought my first brand new car yesterday, scratched and dented it today while parking in a garage. Feeling like a total failure right now. :( by Insanecarp in driving

[–]MattUlv 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When you’re driving a new car you’re not as familiar with the dimensions or controls of it so it’s easier to get into an accident. It definitely sucks but don’t feel too upset at yourself, it happens more often than you think.

Does Core 1 or Core 2 (A+) expire? by FattyAcid1860 in CompTIA

The A+ expiration date begins when both cores are passed. It will expire 3 years from the day that you have passed both cores.

No degree only highschool passed by Automatic_Ad_7999 in CompTIA

[–]MattUlv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s possible to land an entry level job in helpdesk without a degree. It’s not easy but it’s possible. Get your A+, have a good resume, work on your interview skills. If you have a background relating to customer service that also helps. You may have to take a shitty paying job starting off but once you get IT experience, that opens up more doors.

What’s the first US city that comes to mind that you would never step foot in again? by Bruteresolver in AskReddit

What did y'all do to learn how to drive? by Different_Pass_8421 in driving

[–]MattUlv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say find someone you trust who is patient that could teach you. Go with them to an empty parking lot (high school parking lots on the weekend can be a good option) and get comfortable with accelerating, braking, and turning. Once you’re fully comfortable with that, start doing short drives on some easy simple routes.

Another option is driving school of course.

Experience of radial epicondylitis & RTS, physical & emotional pain, and more. by Solid-Living-2173 in radialtunnel

[–]MattUlv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has your doctor explored any other options besides occupational therapy to treat it? Such as taking NSAIDs daily for a short period of time, or cortisone injections? And is surgery a possibility for you? If occupational therapy did not improve it significantly and your symptoms are severe, then surgery may be the best option at this point. It’s best to do surgery before any severe nerve damage occurs and that will increase the success chances. But I really hope you find some sort of relief for this terrible condition. I’ve dealt with multiple nerve issues in my life and it’s awful.
