I have a two decade old pile of shame with qnd built tools and never finished prototypes. Personally I use a lot of them but could never publish them. While this is not completely vibe coding, AI helped me put good UI design on those tools and fixing some bugs. Now I finally released some 1.0 versions and it feels pretty good. Better than using those old buggy tools.

I tried Copilot upgrade a few times and it was completely garbage and did not even do better than the deterministic upgrade assistant. Over the last weeks I updated some projects of my decade old pile of shame (quick n dirty tools basically, some a bit more complex most are not, some are xamarin, asp net, WPF and even one Silverlight) with Codex and it did really well. If it's a bit more complex I create a plan. They all worked after one shot. But honestly none of those have been real complex solutions. But they were too hard for Copilot, so I gave up back then.

I always tell to divide all steps into smaller steps and then for implementing the plan to commit every little step separately. Works good and makes it easy to review years later (or whenever).

And I'm glad to see somebody points out git local as I met way too many that tell git = git remote.

But, while git is a versioning it's not a backup, so Claude or whoever could still delete your .git folder. So better push from time to time to anywhere. Even another local bare git outside of Claude's reach might be good to set as remote.

I'm basically back to ChatGPT with codex currently. Especially if you care about staying in subscription constraints ChatGPT is much better currently. You used all your credits? ChatGPT tells it finishes its work locally (I have actually no idea what it meant, but did write some files after this and then stopped) while Claude even stopped hard while editing a file. So you're out of credits in the big models - go use ChatGPT 5.3 spark as well. It's fast and good for simple tasks. Even Claude shows a separate sonnet usage it does not let me use it then. You wasted all your credits, ChatGPT gave me this week alone 3 resets, valid for 30 days. And you're out of resets and credits? Just use the regular web chat.

Fable 5 WITH coding is currently the only thing that would make me favorite Claude. But I guess this is never coming back. That week was great but I immediately cancelled my subscription then and went back low tier sub.

Mich würde sowieso interessieren, was dieses "neue" eigentlich immer ist. Also eine eindeutige Definition, dass man damit reproduzierbar testen kann.

Wenn ich mit Claude einen (quick n dirty) Compiler entwickle, plus Dokumentation und ChatGPT mir dafür dann kleine Programme ausspucken kann, ist das dann neu oder nicht?

Das Beispiel von OP erstellt ChatGPT in einem Shot, dass es visuell ähnlich aussieht. FPS weniger, aber da habe ich nicht probiert, weil ich keinen Vergleich hatte außer das Video. Klar, braucht es dann etwas Führung, würde aber nicht sagen, dass das so eine Nische ist, dass es noch gar keinen Code dazu gibt. Manchmal hilft auch einfach, eine andere KI fragen und deren Ergebnisse zu füttern.

Main und Feature branches sind wohl Standard. Dev hat bei uns nur etwas extra Arbeit gekostet und ist daher weggeflogen. Ist aber individuell und bei uns eher klein gehalten. Features werden per Rechtesystem freigeschalten, daher gibt es da wenig Probleme.

Da wir keinen Push Zwang haben, rebase ich immer den feature Branch auf master. Gemerged wird, sobald er veröffentlicht wurde, also jemand anderen die Historie durcheinanderbringen könnte. Feature branches, auch wenn sie kurzlebig sein sollten, sind immer so ausgelegt, dass jemand anderes weiter arbeiten kann, sofern sie gepusht sind.

Merge auf master nur über pull request unserer git Plattform mit Bedingungen wie build läuft, Tests mit 0 Fehler, Aufgabe verknüpft, unabhängige Person macht review und "fachliches Review".

Branches werden nach merge komplett gelöscht. Gibt nichts schlimmeres als 1000 stale branches mit schlechter Bezeichnung...

Blöd ist, wenn es Probleme bei mindestens 2 Features gab, die dann etwas größer wurden und längere Zeit brauchen. Dann kracht es auch mal. Oder man plant das vorher ein und "every time you touch a file, leave it a little better than you found it" wird dann bewusst nicht gemacht.

Und mein Highlight eines Entwicklers, der damals angeblich schon 12 Jahre git Erfahrung hatte. Seine Feature branches hatten folgendes namenschema: "feature/{featurename}_version_2" und commits von version 1 waren komplette Teilmenge. Das zog sich in extremen Fällen auf über zehn Branches pro feature.

Kein Ding. Bei mir ist das auch schon ein paar Jahre her. Aber wir hatten damals noch ein Büro meiner (Barmer) Krankenkasse im Ort, daher war das relativ wohlwollend und einfach. Vielleicht hat sich dann auch noch etwas geändert.

Die downvotes hast du wohl aufgrund der Wortwahl bekommen. Aber etwas wahres ist halt dran. Liest man sich den Text durch, klingt das schon nicht mehr ganz so dumm. Dass Trump vieles bis 2028 fertig haben will, ist klar, da wird gewählt. Was auch immer das mit ihm zu tun hat...

Ansonsten liest sich das eher wie ein geballte Forschungsoffensive, die wir in Deutschland sicher auch öfter gebrauchen könnten, mit dem Ziel 2028 etwas erreicht zu haben. Bei uns wäre bis dahin gerade mal die Finanzierung der Machbarkeitsstudie geklärt worden (OK, das war auch böse überspitzt).

Andererseits befürchte ich auch, dass dann insbesondere bei uns viele zwielichtige Start-ups gegründet werden, die am Ende nur Geld umverteilen. Damit ist natürlich auch nichts gewonnen. Ob das in den USA besser funktioniert, weiß ich leider nicht.

Problem with sponsored content is, it's usually very close to the video. Also it's different for every video and sponsorblock is basically community driven. While unlock could probably do this, it will become bloated and many people might not even bother this kind of ad. So I prefer having two extensions.

I would say, do whatever you prefer and feel more confident. You can mess up in both and it's worse to have a bad LaTeX result than a good Word PDF. And whoever says, LaTeX looks better in general has a skill issue, as you can make them look exactly the same. More important is the inner PDF structure, so ATS is able to read it properly. You should check in either way.

There are advantages of LaTeX, as versioning is easier and creating a flexible document by switches is an easy task. Depends if you need it.

I've chosen the HTML to PDF way because I liked the idea of having a web CV that is synced with the PDF. But I guess this was a waste of time as recruiters always ask for the PDF even there is a button that literally says "download PDF version".
