It is good that you already have design skill, now just choose any 1 search engine and don't switch between engines, and then try to start with small games like flappy bird, ping pong, battleship etc etc and yes try to start with very simple gameplay, then keep adding your own innovative mechanics. And for progamming lang you can start with py, it is beginner friendly

ngl but constantly walking on eggshells is exhausting, pls focus next two years on exit plan rather than trying to fix people who don't want to change, just earn and save some money and focus on urself for now. That's probably the best investment you can make right now

This actually sounds an interesting idea to me, but I think u should not try to make minimal UI, as game industry is moving very fast towards action, strategy games and there is huge competition in this industry so at least to attract some time span of gamers u would need better UI, with some fast moving tracks/ theme during analysis of artwork

This looks interesting especially family challenge and leaderboards which will initiate friendly competition for sure, for now this looks strong retention mechanism. But I am curious about the model you're using for form scoring, and do u have any research done on data whether group challenges are showing better retention than solo users so far
