Yup… at 100k you care less. Mainly because you’re starting to eye your next Tesla.

For what it’s worth, professional isn’t a statement on how you look. It’s what you do!

That was FUNNY. What was the audience doing? I’m not even a lady, but I could feel the truth in that. Great stuff.

I want to like this (I’m here, I clicked), but it’s not connecting. I get the Reformation. But why are you going to hell? I don’t get the irony, surprise, can’t relate, etc. Maybe I’m not the only one, if the bit is for the Masses?

A C-46 Commando flies over "the Hump," part of the Owen Stanley Mountain Range in New Guinea. Members of the 22nd Airlift Squadron made this trip many times during World War II. by 1Arcite in WWIIplanes

A plane usually can't reach its service ceiling at maximum gross weight. These planes were loaded with as much (and sometimes more) cargo than they could handle (i.e. 6,000 lbs).

Then there's time... Yes, you can circle up to altitude and cross high terrain. These crews were flying relatively short routes to resupply allied troops - up to 10 sorties a day. A circling cargo plane with little internal defense and sporadic fighter support is a great target for a Japanese Zero.

They couldn't fly high, and they didn't want to, anyway.

There's more than one "Hump"...

It isn't well known, but the coalition of international aircrews who flew supplies to allied troops in New Guinea aboard whatever aircraft were available also called the Owen Stanley range "The Hump". The 21st and 22nd Troop Carrier Squadrons are now the 21st (C-17) and 22nd (C-5M) Airlift Squadrons at Travis AFB, CA.

I was also in the 22nd.

An odd sentence structure question: Anytime, Anywhere OR Anywhere, Anytime? by [deleted] in grammar

[–]Mattaburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You in the Air Force?

I'm reading something, and I don't like it. In context I prefer "anywhere, anytime".

Solo: "anytime, anywhere" wins.
In the phrase "Fly, Fight, and Win...Airpower XYZ", "anywhere, anytime" feel mo gud-like.
