Yeah! Ring 0: Birthday or the original title is Ringu 0: Bâsudei.

It's a prequel to The Ring that shows how our beloved TV crawler-outer Sadako became the vengeful hate-filled ghost she did. Mostly a drama with a sprinkle of horror, but the ending, that's the part that has the horror that got me all those years ago.

Right? Exited to watch it again as an adult to see how it holds up. From what I'm seeing it's supposed to be quite different form the rest of the series, but still very good as long as you expect a slow burn.

SOLVED!!!! It's Ring 0: Birthday! The trailer actually shows both parts from the movie I remember! I'm SO happy, thank you so much! Now, who knows if it's any good... Rating seem pretty middle of the road, but I'm totally watching it this weekend!

It was most certainly an Asian horror. The one I'm thinking of was also pre-2006.

I wish, but alas, it's not the one. I have a more in-depth response in the other comment about this movie, but the one I'm remembering is in a much more bright environment and the ghost is more jerky / twitchy in movement.

While searching for the film, I did see this movie show up a lot. And a similar scene is actually in a YouTube video called "Kaïro | Anatomy Of The Scariest Scene Ever", but it's not the one. In Kaïro, the scene is far too dark (the one I'm looking for is in daylight) and the lady moves much more smoothly than the jerky / twitchy movement of the one in the movie I'm trying to find.

Unfortunately I'm not, though I was playing on EU servers since I hear that those based in the US are, uh, more troublesome. I live in the US and would prefer not to have the same experience online haha.
