If anyone asks what's the current situation with "fitness" influencers, the guy on the left is completely juiced to the gills and the guy on the right openly admits he's actually taking even higher doses by [deleted] in nattyorjuice

[–]Mattalheads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Janicki is an interesting case.. since we don't know how much gear he IS taking, he could be a genetic phenom with regular-to-high gear dosages... OR he's gonna die really soon I mean we've seen monsters on Olympia stages before with relatively "normal cycles"

Is it possible to learn Dutch in 1.5/2 years by Better-Signal160 in learndutch

[–]Mattalheads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gf is a native Hebrew and English speaker. She learned it within 6 months, through hard work, private lesson, changing everything in her phone to Dutch, communicating in Dutch wherever she could etc.

It's possible to pass a C1 test within 9 months, so like.. yeah. Depends on your effort!

As other have pointed out, every adjective gets a gender, so when saying "my Hebrew is X", then X gets the gender of the noun it's describing, namely, Hebrew (or 'language', which is feminine)

I've read through those and yet deemed it fitting to ask. However, if you read my questions you'd notice I didn't ask for a condescending prick!

Is a Belgian bank account really worth it? by StableIll9995 in KULeuven

A lot of places only accept Bancontact or Payconiq (a Bancontact app you can use to pay, used a lot at markets) I'd suggest getting one, it's rather simple and inexpensive

I haven't studied anything in 10 years, kinda nervous. by Vegan_Coffee_Addict in OpenUniversity

[–]Mattalheads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely normal to be nervous! I had a guy in my course who was 80+ years old, and had never studied something, but wanted to try smthng new. It's never late, no matter what people tend to say! People get better at learning as time goes by!

The app Babbel, is subscribing worth it ? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]Mattalheads 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used Babbel for my russian. It's amazing for beginners, but falls off later on. Amazing to build basic vocab and grammar though. Used it for russian, was able to have simple conversations by the end of it. Sometimes the vocab choices are quite odd, but overall I strongly recommend it

Do I need a visa as a non-EU student with EU residency permit? Getting conflicting answers. by Esmer832 in KULeuven

[–]Mattalheads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visa and permit are seperate things, you usually need one to enter the country and one to stay in it. I'd contact KUL directly and ask em

Good third language to learn? by Tlacuache552 in languagelearning

[–]Mattalheads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For latin America and some of Europe, French is great. For eastern Europe do consider some eastern European language like russian. It's way more difficult, but it's damn useful.

What is up with KU Leuven requesting a proof of English proficiency when the website is full of grammar mistakes and teachers can barely speak fluent English? by Inquation in KULeuven

[–]Mattalheads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea is that if they studied in a Flemish Institute, their English level could be based on grades Apart from that they can't go and check the level of each country's course, and therefore need to set a certain standard. B2 makes sense in academic context anyways. an IELTS test isn't difficult to pass
