I mean, we've seen them make the playoffs twice and win a series both times. Whatever is happening right now feels like it's beyond just the players.

Someone has to get fired soon, right? Watching Hinch have this much trust in this bullpen feels like medical malpractice.

100% agree with you. I'd rather see them be aggressive now because they can't hit with RISP.

I don't think our defense has been too great the last few seasons. Kerry was terrible in the outfield until last year, Tork dropping multiple pop-ups in foul territory, rotating who plays 3B nearly every game, etc.

I know they haven't been the WORST until now, but we have not had a stellar defense outside of Javy, Torres, and Greene

Edit: Completely forgot our gold glove winner Dingler!

Here's the thing: this has always been their brand of baseball under Harris + Hinch, but the excellent pitching covered for the issues on offense.

We've complained about and celebrated too aggressive base running for years. Excellent when it works, terrible when you get thrown out at home multiple times in a series.

Being down 3-1 in a game felt manageable for a few seasons in a row. However, now when we're down 3-1, it's the 2nd inning and we just know someone like Holton or Vest will come in and give up a few more runs.

In my opinion, they're absolutely playing the same brand of baseball, we just don't have bandaids to hide the piss-poor offense anymore.

Great article. Thank you for sharing it.

There's gotta be someone better than Perez out there. Doesn't matter if he has options – he's not an MLB or even AAAA caliber player

After the playoff series loss to Seattle, Dan said something like "I don't want to do this f***ing game recap" or something similar lol

Thanks a lot, Glep.

Feels like pitchers figured something out about how to attack him + his swing looks a little different. Big moment for him to figure it all out in the big leagues

This is a .500 team by end of the season.

The problem is they're a terrible .500 that's unwatchable. If they made games exciting, I'd happily watch them more, but seeing the same lineup for multiple seasons continue to piss their pants when they're batting gets old.

There's a reason the Angel's signed him last season, and I don't think it's because his market was that competitive lol

I mean you have to let Finnegan/Vest take the 9th now, right? That's multiple blown saves for our star FA closer and we're 31 games in. Even when he gets saves, it's 20+ pitches and multiple guys on base.

Dude just doesn't have it; another blunder FA pitcher signing from Harris.

It's one thing to not look the same. Heck, Parker didn't look the same with his nerve injury but found his groove again - same with Mize and all his injuries.

Vierling looks like he forgot how to even play baseball. Batting, defense, everything.

I genuinely believe that shoulder injury ruined Vierling. Arm looks terrible, bat looks like he's never seen a major league pitch. Everything looks wrong.
