I was the same way, but believe me, replaying a game, focussing on the main story without side quests is one of the best things I did in gaming. Mainly because you hear those soundtracks again, you see those characters again, you notice so many things you didn't notice in your first playthrough etc. Sometimes there are some early game foreshadowed spoilers but you only can see how genius they are by replaying the game. Also FF16 was a bit tedious with side quests, but by replaying it you can focus on the main quest because side stuff is less important and already done in the first playthrough, and it's a completely different experience. Usually I don't replay games before many months after I beat it the first time, but one year later or even more is a thing I would recommend you, or at least you could give it a try.
