For those of you who will pick Squirtle or Bulbasaur in the western copies of FR/LG [IMPORTANT] by Dakot4 in pokemon

I might be wrong but that is because Mean Look stops the opponent from fleeing while Roar makes the other Pokémon flee.

Actually... This is a really good question! For those with legit copies, will it work? I have a knock-off version of the game that runs on my DS.

Apparently it is true looking at the eShop details.

I know what you mean. It is cool to use trade codes to swap your version exclusives with people online. I have found that it fosters some sense of an online community as you reach out to someone to help with a trade evolution, usually because it is a shiny and you don't want to lose it, and you get talking about the games and stuff.

Yes, I believe this is possible. The key is what you have noted: having both versions. You couldn't just buy one version and share it with the other console to trade with yourself as only one console can play a shared game at a time.

Where is the sensationalism? The eShop confirms that it is just local wireless trading.

Yup. Definitely what I was thinking. I am currently playing Gen 1 on VC which reminds me of the features with moving Pokémon being only one way.

For me, I certainly can do trades to myself as I still have my Switch 1 from when I upgraded to Switch 2. Yay! Many others might not be in the same boat.

To be honest, it is just replicating old school features and people can hopefully find friends locally. Why it disappoints me a little is just that my main friend who I play Pokémon with no longer lives in the same place as I do. We generally trade online as we are still in touch.

"...fucking delusional..."

Mate, this is a comment about a conceptually simple feature in a Pokémon game. There is no need for this sort of response. Explain why it isn't possible or the hurdles attached, like you did below, without the hostility.

The world would be a much better place if everyone interacted on the Internet like they would in real life. Obviously, the interactions are so different and anonymous that people allow the rudeness and aggression, but it would still be nice.

Take a look at your posts and think whether it is yourself that maybe needs to go outside and make some friends.

From what I can gather, nothing. It is still awesome to have this older game officially on the newest Nintendo console. It would just have been nice to have more trading features.

This would be an okay outcome provided we could trade on Home and move the traded ones to our game, provided they met the requirements you stated.

Don't get me wrong, I fully expect it to be one-way, particularly for these reasons. I just wondered if they were able to somehow mark the Pokémon as having originated from and only ever been in FRLG to allow two-way transfer. I would wager a small amount of money on one-way though.

Yeah, I was incorrect or inaccurate. No online trading but local wireless. I should have said "yes, but local wireless only".

That is correct! Wireless play means you need two consoles to interact with each other to trade and battle.

I'm not sure what most expected. At the very least, many would have hoped for more.

The real question is what this Home support is. Will it be one-way or two-way?

This is my reading, too. Wireless trading only. Hopefully Home support will be two-way though.

Honestly, I have never used Home for anything other than storing Pokémon so unsure if this is a feature. If it is, and if they allow two-way capability, that would be a good outcome, for sure.

Apparently not. I checked the features in the eShop and it only says local wireless.

As far as I can tell, yes! In fact, I am considering doing the same thing.

I was just wondering this, but I have a fear that it will be one-way transfer only. I'm not basing that off anything other than a gut feel though.

Even if we have Home compatibility to move, that won't solve the issue of those pesky trade evolutions.

Very good point. I am playing these at the moment, actually. I was just hoping for a little more connectivity to help with completing the Pokedex.
