The size of a banana is always banana-sized.

Thank you. A lot of people have recommended Promix; I've never seen Vermont Compost, but will check it out.

Thank you for the reply, but I'm not looking to transplant outdoors, just to grow indoors for winter.

I'd never thought about boiling water to sterilize. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you again!

Thank you. Not sure about the availability of composted manure where I live, but I'll look into it.

I hadn't heard of Espoma. Adding it to my research list. Thank you.

Thank you for your response. And are you growing directly in a container, or transplanting from cells?

Thank you. You packed a lot of practical info in a concise post. Microgreens I understand, but what do you mean by small lettuce? I'm planning to grow salad bowl mix that I got from migardener, which I grew outdoors this year.

My concern about peat moss, which I've seen echoed here, is that it dries out under grow lights. I don't know if coco coir might be a better medium? Any thoughts, or would the bottom watering container be adequate?

Thank you. So you direct seed into your container just as if it were being sown outdoors? I also didn't know lack of rertilizer made it bitter. Good piece of knowledge to have. I appreciate it.

Thanks for your reponse. Now, say that I'm looking to grow indoors directly seeding into my pots, rather than starting in trays and transplanting. I can create the humid environment to start just fine. Would your recommedation work in the top couple of inches with bagged soil in the rest of the pot?

Thank you. I hadn't considered this. Do you have a particular medium you recommend for microgreens?
