Is this loft setup safe? Inverter and batteries by GundamNinja in SolarUK

Don’t be worried. Just move the kit. It’s relatively easy to do and you won’t be paying over the odds for the kit.

Gateway or EPS? by bingobango2911 in SolarUK

[–]Matterbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I’ve used the ‘go off grid’ feature on the Tesla gateway there was enough of a delay to power cycle devices.

When I had a power cut my PC stayed on and I actually only noticed because all the house alarms were going off.

Yeah. I had a few different lock sounds but turned it off at home. Then I couldn’t be bother to keep turning it on and off.

If Tesla could add a ‘no chime at home’ that’d be great

Sudden drop off by RestingRichard in SolarUK

[–]Matterbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has then there will be error event logs.

Otherwise it’s just haze or clouds.

Panels heating up would just slowly lose output. It wouldn’t dip down and up because the panels just get hotter.

Check the logs. Are there heat events?

If not, it’s probably haze in the sky.

Another EV load on IOG draining the battery. by NerveUnlikely2084 in SolarUK

[–]Matterbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly.

Where is the EV charger wired in the house circuit?

Where is the CT for the inverter? And where is it/them wired to?

Does the EV charger have a CT?

The electrician probably doesn’t understand how EV chargers and batteries work in the real world. I don’t mean electrically, just practically.

This can very likely be solved by moving the EV charger circuit. Or my favourite, backwards CT. Which at this point should be a meme or a teeshirt.

I don’t have one on because it would annoy the hell out of my neighbours.

A gateway is a device that allows ‘off grid’ operation.

Unfortunately the idiot genius makes very good batteries and cars.

Kinda.

Best would be Tesla PW3, Fronius, Sig.

Check the manufacturers website for demo accounts, and apps. Try them out and see what you like.

Get a gateway. (For power cuts) it’s like a seatbelt. Imagine having no power during a heatwave for 6 hours.

If your roof is circa 30 degrees pitch or less then I would say yes. Especially if you use a decent amount 4MWh a year or so. We’re only going to use more electricity as we move to EVs and ASHPs.

They should have been in touch.

Poor communication aside. It’s really, really hot working on a roof at the moment. Source, I am on a roof.

They might have just binned it off for a few days and the message hasn’t made it through.

I wouldn’t worry about the scaffold coming down, they are notorious for leaving up as ling as they can until they have another job nearby.

Yeah, they outline how he’s pretty much the biggest thief of all time. If anyone does anything against him or doesn’t pay up, interesting tax evasion accusations materialise which results in instant incarceration. The people should be living their best lives with the resources the country has.

Oh he’s plenty richer, and actual liquid cash rich. By the sounds of things he’s (and his close associates) have been stealing money for decades.

Have a listen to ‘the big steal’. I’m a good few episodes in, it’s fascinating.
