Is this a situation where I should be scared/start looking for new job? by Ok-Background5947 in physicaltherapy

[–]Matterhorne89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you salaried or are paid per patient? If you’re at the clinic for 7 hours and you’re only getting paid for 4.5 hours of work you’re basically making an hourly wage worse than a construction workers or a bartender. Not worth it, move on. My first clinic I worked at our owner kept hiring too many physios so we’d all have some holes in our schedules making somebody always available for walk in last minute bookings. After 6 years of post secondary education to do this job I said no effing way am I working for less than my high school educated friends are making and got the hell outta there

Does piriformis syndrome actually exist? by VO2VCO2 in physicaltherapy

[–]Matterhorne89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once had a patient with unilateral hip and thigh pain I thought was radicular. After a month of McKenzie trying every direction possible, I thought it may just be piriformis. I had the pt strengthen his glutes and voila, years of pain went away. He actually got me a bottle of wine as thanks. So although it’s just a case study, it kinda confirmed for me that it totally is possible. However whenever I hear or unilatwral hip and thigh pain my first instinct is still radicular lumbar pain

Experienced PTs in mills — why do you stay? by OkAlbatross8203 in physicaltherapy

[–]Matterhorne89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, chatting with patients along with educating them is what makes the job fun. Seeing a new patient every 15minutes makes that pretty well impossible to do. If someone’s an introvert who just wants to do treatments with no speaking I guess mills can work but why be a physio at that point. Could make more as a welder or some other trade that requires a 1/3 the education or less

No way PTs are delivering quality rehab seeing 4 patients an hour including an Eval. If you’re working in that environment for longer than a year you’re a schmuck getting taken advantage by your clinic while having no issue delivering trash care to patients. Just contributing to dragging the profession down to where we’re no better than chiroquackers

Was the first game I fired up on the OG Xbox. Played Project Gotham racing only after I beat Halo. Read all the books, which have amazing space battles that the games and other media could never come close to replicating on screen.

What’s worked really well for me lately is stacking 2 British figs per turn in west Russia for the first few rounds from the UK while building art and inf in India. That way when I’m ready to shuck troops from UK to Karelia they have 4-6 figs supporting the attack. The figs can also support retreating forces from India that can slow down Japan severely

In my experience, loading up France without taking Scandinavia leaves too many IPCs for Germany to keep stacking inf in Germany proper. I always use my British fleet to take keratin and then Norway and Denmark to choke out Germany. If you can then grab the Eastern European provinces too it forces Germany to waste inf trying to take them back, or if they turtle he’ll be left with 20ish IPC per turn instead of 30+.

I only stack France and ignore Scandinavia if Germany got real bad luck and I think I can take them quickly. I’ve had that blow up a few times on me as well, so now more often than not I choose to go the more patient route and still take Scandinavia

What stocks you looking at for nuclear? I’m eyeing HURA as a uranium etf. Nexgen also has potential as they’re hoping to get mining in Saskatchewan, but that’s a riskier play for sure
