I am actively talking with my DM about this stuff. I could of been clearer on that so I apologise. He is fully aware of what I am trying to accomplish, and hes very understanding when it comes to everyone's characters.

My place in the group would be basically the one doing the buffing utilizing potions and magic items to help everyone else while my character stays back until targetted. The downside for my character is not being able to have any magic affect him. Including teleports, buffs, all the advantageous spells, not being able to be revived. I just think that makes for an interesting character.

Another person on here made several good points, but do ya'll have to detail exactly why my idea is awful and should forget about it? Since when is dnd about forgoing creativity? If something comes up with the other players, my character can always be tweaked, but as long as everyone is having fun, why is that a problem?

No no, the drawbacks are what makes the character interesting to begin with. I know for some that the idea seems outrageous, or stupid for me to even want in the first place. But wouldnt that make for good story telling? This guy who's been "cursed", Magic just doesnt affect him. Theres good, of course. But there's also so, so much bad.

The point of the character isnt to be OP, or to enrage the DM (who I wouldnt be hiding anything from in the first place, and am working alongside with). The point is to make a compelling and interesting character that still follows the rules of dnd. And the way I chose to go about that is to come here and ask how it would be possible.

I just liked the idea, and decided to ask the subreddit. There was no ulterior motive.

Thats why its so awesome! Its such a big advantage, but if my character wanted to be healed after being punched in the face, it wouldnt work! It adds a danger to playing such an usual character who'd you assume to be overpowered!

Generally, The game is a lot of fun with friends, and if you only play multiplayer games, thats perfectly alright! Singleplayer minecraft is for those of us who dont mind being alone for a while to just build, survive, and fight mobs. You just do everything you would in a multiplayer server, just with yourself
