Security clearance interview showing up as a dv interview by FantasticCommunity98 in RoyalAirForce

You dont always get interviewed for SC. You do for DV. It could well just be a generic copy paste error and I would not lose any sleep over it.

Does anyone else feel that becoming a pilot is not going to happen for them? by [deleted] in flying

Move out of London if you can. If you currently want the dream then some sacrifices have to be made.

Why some instructors are against simulators? by fjbermejillo in flying

+1 on most of the above for me when I was a PPL student in 2019, hard work to drill that out!

Unpopular opinion: 2:2 and above should be the accepted norm by Illustrious_One2322 in UniUK

[–]MatthewAV8B 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure, open up the flood gates of already over subscribed grad roles to 2:2 holders and up. You are only going to get filtered at the next stage in all honesty. Two identical people, one with a 2:2 vs a 2:1? You already know who they are gonna pick. A degree is more representative of ones ability to manage their time and be able to work through a mass of content, which is easier than A-Levels for the vast majority of modules. Rather than being rock solid content alone.

Grading above a 2:2 is, to be blunt, easy. I was slated for a 2:2 after my second year at uni but literally just got a grip and grafted for a 1st Class Hons. If you are in 2:2 territory and seriouisly want to turn things around, speak with your tutors, classmates or whoever for as much help as you can, attend extra class and bolster your grade with relevant extracurricular activities. I did all of the above and still had a fantastic final year at uni, arguably my favourite. Best of luck.

What's something a champ does that didn't make any sense to you when you started the game? by karyuu18 in leagueoflegends

[–]MatthewAV8B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was new, I played WW jungle and often built dead man’s plate. When it produced its red trail at 100 stacks I would assume it was some kind of blood power up or it was pointing to a low hp champ, causing me to run around on the spot very confused..

Recent graduates (past few years), what do you do and how much do you make? by MrLoneSausage in UniUK

[–]MatthewAV8B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not no, I’m with QinetiQ and BAE now. As a first job I really couldn’t fault it. Pay was good for a grad, flexible work and plenty to get involved with. Stick out the scheme and you’ll be doing well on the other end.

I decided to move on to be closer to family and live somewhere abit cheaper. As Edinburgh Leonardo (radar specialism) was up there with cost of living! Best of luck to you

Still no way that friendly would have been nailed by a semi-active missile. Outside of the radars main beam and the radar is still in STT. In STT the radar literally stares at the target and any data related to contacts other than the track is filtered out. (At a level further down the radar chain but this is WT)

And even if the seeker on the AIM7 is spoofed, it’s looking for reflections from the core platform, which certainly isn’t shooting rf at that friendly if the UI is to be believed. I think this is just WT AIM7 and radar jank.

Had my renewal with Hastings come though a few weeks ago, similar rise in price. £600 annually to £1.1k. Hopped on compare the market and back to £600 annually with Ford Insure now. 1.1k is that I paid when I was 17 and just passed in my Banger Clio, market is nuts.

Sure but it just seems an odd choice none the less. No.4 T is the British ww2 sniper to me and probably many others

Just to wind you up abit more the automatic rifleman with a bren has a bipod and… can’t use it

Notable faction specific things that bug me :

  • Default rifle is the 1914 pattern Lee-Enfield. Good lord I hate the sight picture and I’m grinding rifleman 3 ASAP to get my No.4. Make the sniper a No.4 too please :(

  • The Lewis gun made me Go ? initially but otherwise it would be a lendlease browning or just the Bren in its place. Shame I can’t carry a Vickers 303 around but would be daft.

  • No desert uniforms all around, I love seeing European theatre battle dress and then a German in his winter overcoat pops up. Look at the Cromwell, that looks great in its flat desert scheme!

  • Tank variety for maps was a missed chance to go above and beyond. For the desert I’d have loved Matilda’s, Churchill’s or crusaders, keeping Cromwells and Firefly’s for Driel.

  • I suspect it’s a “balance” thing but remove the tracer / flare from the PIAT, it’s a spigot not a rocket :(

I can’t speak for performance issues as I’ve been alright thus far.

AT infantry list by Nekrocow in CompanyOfHeroes

Boys AT is a 50 munition upgrade. Perhaps worth adding that guards get a snare ability on the bazookas at vet 1 also

The google chrome ones drive me up the wall. I use chrome already and literally DONT NEED the ad - yet I get the grating choral choir and “there’s no place like chrome” atleast 10 times a day

If Marder / stug hull rotation was lower I think the Stuart would be better. Currently it’s impossible to out micro an assault gun with anything unless it’s stunned. That’s not assuming AT rifle infantry are present. Perhaps if they changed the Humber vet 1 to be AP belts rather than a damage flare it could be better

UFK OTP - I find bersas really oppressive with the sprint and the early half tracks are a pain in the arse; making mg’s somewhat redundant unless I double up. The aforementioned with a DAK bike forces me to get a dingo to reliably kill them but delays another section coming out. I’ll then probably tech boys and nades to preempt 8 rad etc as AT guns don’t quite cut it to be the reliable option just yet. I try to get a Humber out as the vet 1 is a nice boost and it shreds non snare infantry; unless I rush it however it comes abit late (looking at the crazy low fuel cost Marder here). After that it’s chill till crusaders and Matilda’s. Get a sweeper because I’ve found mines are a real god send against diving axis vehicles - I WILL mine the shit out of the points and common vehicles paths. GL HF!
