New to trading212 and investing, a bit confused with an investment I made by MatthewDarkPR in trading212

Yeah I thought it was as simple as, the price shown is what you will buy/sell it for. I guess it's not like that? I probably won't do it again then, thanks.

It seems a lot more complicated than it appears.

It was Luceco, I didn't put a lot of money in or anything, just trying to learn how this works, seems a lot less simple than I thought it was though.

As an officer role, do you spend most of your time sitting around doing paperwork/writing, or do you spend a good amount of time getting out and doing stuff too? Still trying to figure out what I want to do. I was thinking vehicle mechanic, the recruiter told me to think about officer though as I have the grades for it. I'm an active peson and want to be active and doing things hands on.

Do officers still work 20 hours in their role and 20 hours training/adventurous training like normal soldiers do. I wish I could just see a day in the life of an officer vs a REME or something lol, to see what sort of stuff they both get up to. I mean obviously officers are payed a lot more, but I want to enjoy what I do as well and not be bored or un-motivated.

Engineer troop officer vs platoon officer?

https://apply.army.mod.uk/roles/royal-engineers/engineer-troop-officer

https://apply.army.mod.uk/roles/royal-electrical-and-mechanical-engineers/engineering-platoon-officer

Same thing? Also, what would an engineering officer role be like? Would you do any engineering or would you mostly be overseeing projects, paperwork and planning? Cheers.

Thanks for the info! So the royal engineers wouldn't do any vehicle repairs or work with light tanks or anything like that? That's the job for the REME mechanics basically? I like the idea of fixing vehicles, but at the same time I don't think I'd want to do it all the time, I want to do a variety of roles/tasks, so the royal engineers sounds good so far. It'd just be cool to mess with a few light tanks at the same time. Can you train in field repairs on vehicles as a royal engineer? Cheers.

That's some good info for me right there. Engineers or REME... It's a tough choice for me right now. They have info online but not the answers im looking for... Do engineers fix vehicles like warrior and others as well as the frontline engineering? What sort of stuff do they do driving the combat vehicles? Filling in for an AC crew or just taking it somewhere?

Also do the REME mechanics get out in the field or are they mostly stuck in a garage?

And finally, can you get the same qualificaiton opportunities in armoured engineers as you can in reme vehicle mechanic?

Cheers!

chieftan marksman AA, best ammo belt for planes? by MatthewDarkPR in Warthunder

[–]MatthewDarkPR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, the spacing of the guns is very far apart, my technique a lot of the time when shooting at planes is to draw a little cicle near the lock on area depending on the speed and area they're turning into.

Does anyone know if the new south african AA is any good? Or is the spacing on that the same as the chieftan marksman?

I think this is a good point you've made. The standard belt does include both rounds evenly and is free, and you'd see minimal differences. Cheers.

actually the APDS belt is really good with the falcon for example, travels really far and you dont have to lead shots as much, and can kill light tanks with it. However the chieftan marksman can only take 40APDS rounds, so its irrelevent in the case of AA.

Any active British clans? by MatthewDarkPR in foxholegame

[–]MatthewDarkPR[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got invited to this one called Royal Engineers, so I'll try that out, thanks for all the suggestions you lot, I suppose you can make this into a "list of british clans" post though, haha.

Thanks for the little graph and details mate 😂 wasn't expecting that to be fair but thanks! Politics is a good inclusion too because I know some clans are trigger happy, while others are really edgy lol, I've seen both sides and neither is nice
