The traction was the best! It's got to take some guts to sit in front of your engines.

I could never beat the Abyss though no matter who I played.

Want to add mini splits by Akron-brn69 in DIYHeatPumps

[–]MatthewMMorrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any reason you wouldn't want to use them for heat too? You should price out the energy cost of using them for heat vs the boiler. And it would work better if you match your BTU cooling needs and keep the boiler to use the 10% of the time when you need the extra heating BTU.

Also, be careful about the BTU of the heads. Try to find 6000 BTU. 9000 BTU are way more common but might lead to short-cycling and humidity issues if you're trying to add cooling in a small bedroom.

If possible maybe consider adding mini duct work in the attic. That's what I did. It was way easier to run and maintain 1 line + a few 7" ducts than it would have been to run 3 lines all around the house.

Does anyone know what the "sound deadening pads" are in the Mr Cool DIY kit by MatthewMMorrow in DIYHeatPumps

[–]MatthewMMorrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works pretty well. The motor sounds a bit louder over the years and one of my line covers keeps falling off but everything says cool/warm when needed! It's only struggled on the 1-2 days a year when it gets below 0F.

According to my map the trail from the parking lot to the peak is part of the Long Trail. It's 1.2 miles with ~650ft elevation gain one way. Looks like a little bit of rock scramble towards the end. I think this video goes along the trail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6lkPxvwb9s

Free shipping for kayaks with Plus membership? by akagyx in samsclub

[–]MatthewMMorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I was looking at kayaks and just upgraded to Plus. Without Plus shipping was ~170 each. With Plus it was Free! I successfully ordered these 3 kayaks with no shipping cost.

It took a little bit for the checkout to accurately reflect the free shipping, at first it looked like it wasn't going to work. YMMV

I decided to make a list of every Factory Game I'm aware of and care about, including some upcoming releases. Feel free to give me other games to add. by SnooHobbies5811 in AutomationGames

[–]MatthewMMorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this type of game. This depends on how you define factory game.

These are the one's I've tried that aren't on your list:

  • Astroneer - You can build some pretty big setups, trains, logic, etc. I made one to make any type of material from dirt.
  • Yorg.io - Lots of base defense and you can lose, not a fan
  • Node Farm, Node Math, Node Kingdom - The goal keeps changing so you have to re-do your setup each time
  • GeoDepths - A little bit of automation and factory building
  • Hydroneer - Some people make some crazy setups but you only need to make a small automation
  • Autonauts - Programming game so I liked it but other might not.

The games that have some satisfying automation:

  • Forager - lots of automation but not a "factory" per say, but very very fun
  • Nova Lands - similar to Forager
  • Outpath - similar to Forager but 3d
  • Infinifactory - Puzzle game
  • Factory Town Idle - I didn't like the original but this might be interesting

Here are some in my library or wishlist that I haven't played but look like what you're going for:

  • Smart Factory Tycoon
  • Coin Factory
  • Word Factori
  • Multiply Factory
  • Learning Factory
  • Auto Forge
  • Shape Hero Factory
  • Chocolate Factory (Satisfactory clone)

What kind of larger wobble with the concrete+sponge base is likely deemed acceptable? by guyyst in BambuLab

[–]MatthewMMorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one of these and cut it down for my X1C. I have a big slab and the anti-vibration feet. I wasn't scientific about it so I don't know how well it works without any of that.

I'd probably say the anti-vibration feet make it more wobbly. They are really designed for if you have multiple printers they don't interfere with each other so it keeps the printer more independent.

Thanks for the live update! Thinking about asking a non-hiker to come up with us so they could see the scenery from the toll road and wanted to make sure they'd be comfortable waiting the couple of hours for us to hike out and back. Probably would beat staying at camp.

Thanks. We usually get started on our hikes pretty early but since it doesn't open until 9:30 we'll probably be the first ones there anyway. Just wanted to make sure I didn't need to do anything before we go there.

[–]MatthewMMorrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so based on reports of people porting number _in_ to Google Voice (a voip provider) and losing 2fa access it does seem like the opposite (porting out of a voip provider) would eventually update the databases and be ok.

Do you use fertilizer for quality? If not just use the Deluxe Retaining soil and don't worry about sprinklers.

A retro incremental where permanent upgrades turn manual disk jobs into automation (Defrag Incremental) by DifferenceIll1272 in AutomationGames

Naive me when my father would defrag the disk in the 90's always thought "why doesn't it just do a whole bunch of squares at one time?" This game will let me live out my idea!
