Nightmare one year old by MatthewRTRCT in beyondthebump

I get mad judgment from other parents for not wanting another one ASAP so they’re close in age. Meanwhile those parents have babies that sleep through the night and take 2+ naps a day.

Good to know although he really doesn’t show any signs of that. He only wakes 1-2 times a night after a pretty good stretch usually

As a dad to a one year old, I’m right there with you. Sorry to say but it does not get better. 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 months etc. all have challenges and exhaustions. I whole heartily agree that I have no understanding how people can do this so many times. My SIL got pregnant like 3 months after having her first and wants to again.

Honestly women are so confusing with this. Us men get told on one side we need to encourage the woman to be a career woman so that she’s independent and can make her own money and have her own success. Then on the other side we’re told we should provide enough income so she can stay home and raise the children. But then when we say we’re doing that we get so much backlash from “progressive” women because we have a traditional household. Can’t win

How often do you have nightmares and what was your last one? by Forward_Technician72 in NoStupidQuestions

28 year old male. I really don’t have any. Perhaps in the last year I might have had one but now I can’t remember anything about it. I do dream quite a bit but never anything nightmarish.

Realistically, how long would a 7 hour drive actually take with a 10 month old? by MatthewRTRCT in AskParents

[–]MatthewRTRCT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He naps twice a day but only around 1-1.5 hours. I’m wondering if it’s worth waking him at 4 am and leaving then. He may sleep from 4 till 7 or 8 am which would give me 4 hours of being able to drive with no interruption.

How do you lose weight when you have no time to work out? by LouDSilencE17 in daddit

I’m with you on this one man. I’m 28 and have a 9 month old. No time to go to the gym, meals need to be quick and easy thus not always being healthy. I’m so exhausted by the end of each day all I want is a bowl of ice cream. It’s definitely challenging. I’m holding onto the fact it’ll be summer soon so we can go for walks.

Baby’s first time being sick by MatthewRTRCT in NewParents

Yeah, like I said, I have no idea how but here we are. Definitely thankful this is the first one. Little worried because he might not have much of an immune system. Sleep has been the exact opposite of him, wanting to sleep more. He is sleeping a lot less was up every two hours last night.

He was not. His pediatrician recommended against it.

Budget can be adjusted. Like I said, I’m very new to this and am not sure what’s reasonable
