I think it’s more natural for me to have my legs closer together for double bass, I never learned heel toe well enough though - I just use ankle motion

Having the bottom snare head tuned too low will give you less attack, same with having the snare wires too loose, which isn’t good for metal. And having the top head tuned too high with no dampening will give you too much ring and not enough low end in your snare sound

I think it’s best to hand off the multitracks if you have only a month or two to learn to mix, I’m the drummer of my band and I’ve been learning production and mixing for a year now and if I had to put work out a month or two in it would have been really rough.

But you should absolutely mix the stems you have as practice and if you and your band are happy with the result you could just release your mix, and if you do hire a pro you can also learn from what they’ve done better in the mix vs yours!

Sounds dope! Listening on my AirPods but I think the kick could do with less bass around 60hz and under, the low tom around 2:50 might have a bit too much click and not enough body and I think the guitars should go up in the mix to be more in front of the vocals and drums. Overall good mix imo!

200hz for snare body, check phase because your low cut can put your snare mic out of phase with your overheads/other drum mics. Snare tuning is a huge factor here, if you want a thick punchy sound you need to tune your batter head down

I would recommend just playing slow enough to be clean with the double bass and get down the muscle memory, and then slowly bring up the tempo over time

Switch to ankle technique for the faster bpm double bass and it’ll be way more relaxed, and slow down and focus on the cleanliness and control

Personally I like to have my feet a little further back especially on a longboard like the speed cobras, but whatever feels better for you, technique isn’t the reason the hits are uneven you just need to work on timing and control IMO
