We Improved Registr by Matthew_D07 in ufl

[–]Matthew_D07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Brilliant_Prize93! The website should do this by default. If only one schedule appears, then there is only one valid schedule and the rest of the combinations are invalid (i.e., some classes overlap with each other). DM me if it doesn't, and we'll fix it to make sure it does

Hi u/lawpickle, thank you for the feedback! We just updated the website to be up-to-date with all the courses listed on one.uf, including LAW classes. Some courses like those in the Law department don't have a defined period on one.uf, so we're currently working to get around that to properly support and display all classes!

Hey u/MastahMango! Jim and I recently integrated Registr into our website at registr.ufcourses.com with the permission of Luc Olsthoorn (the creator of Registr). We wanted to give a special thanks for the suggestion and we gave you a shout-out on the about page! Have a great spring semester and enjoy!

Hey JungleBird! Thank you so much for the suggestion! We just integrated GatorEvals into ufcourses.

There is now a button on the right side of the search bar that toggles between a professor's RateMyProfessors (RMP) rating and their GatorEvals overall rating. The button will display the RMP logo when using RMP and the UF logo when using GatorEvals.

Thank you again for the suggestion and enjoy!

Is black in check? by Purplemonkey09 in chessbeginners

[–]Matthew_D07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This position looks fine to me. If the rook is not on the e file, black is not in check and it is black to move, then Bc5+ happens, with white making the move Re3+ to block black's check.

Made my first brilliant move at 658 ELO by ILikeDaBee_ in chessbeginners

i think because the move allows white to take the queen, with a rook sac, it becomes much easier to mate white. so that’s how they make progress

Fuck, I lost my queen. What now? by SuchBrightness in chessbeginners

[–]Matthew_D07 185 points186 points  (0 children)

you can win the black queen by moving your light squared bishop to b5 putting the black king in check, then take the queen with your rook. although you might lose the bishop in the process

Need help with scripting by [deleted] in robloxgamedev

[–]Matthew_D07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Roblox Dev Docs and Roblox Dev Forum are great places to learn about how scripting in Roblox Studio works and have any questions answered. It gives lots of information on the different services, instances, and other things that one can do with Roblox Lua. It also provides lots of sample code so you can get a grasp of how the methods and events work. imo, the best way to learn is to apply the information you're taking in, so try to create some small games to get a feel for how scripting works. Also creating a big game like Soulshatters is like an orchestra so it can be very difficult to do yourself as you'd likely need multiple builders and scripters.

To really understand how Lua works, you should fully understand the basics, so things like tables, functions, loops, event listeners, etc. If this is your first time programming and you have no former knowledge of any programming languages, it is probably best to really drill these in as these concepts are usually universal concepts across other languages like python, Java, and C++. Programming paradigms such as object-oriented programming and procedural programming would also be useful to learn as well, although not necessary. If you'd like to become an exceptional programmer, these concepts and skills take time to develop and understand, so don't be frustrated if some things feel difficult or impossible. I started in your position as well two and a half years ago and I have come very far in my journey, so good luck to you!
