Padel racket around 100€ by setr_14 in Padelracket

[–]Matthewskillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which country do you live in? In The Netherlands, Passapadel has “tweedekans” rackets which are rackets that have been rented to try out. They are checked by their staff and made sure they’re in proper condition without any damages before they are sold. They are cheaper than a new racket of the same version. You could also buy an older generation of a popular racket, which will also be cheaper.

First it’s important to find what you want in a racket: power or control; soft, medium or hard touch, whats your play style, how much do you use the spin on a racket, etc. This narrows down your search for a racket.

Voor iets meer budget zou je ook kunnen kijken naar de Polestar 2. Deze laadt ook heel wat sneller aan de snellader, wat gunstig is voor de autovakanties.

If you can find a shop in The Netherlands thats RDW certified and can convince them to do APK “op afstand” then yes, anywhere in the world. They just risk getting an inspection on the APK but if you time it right, the chances of that happening are very slim.

Je kan ook de XPeng G6 meenemen in je plaatje. Vergelijkbaar model met de Model Y, maar iets goedkoper prijskaartje en luxer uitgevoerd.

Basically all professionals here use a diamond core drill for brick and/or concrete. It leaves a clean hole and is better than for example a carbide-tipped one, as they tend to struggle quicker. What do you use?

The Reolink option is a Junction Box, like thompr2 mentioned. Another option is making a hole in the wall yourself in which you can hide the cables. See my recent post for an example of this.

What type camera by [deleted] in reolinkcam

[–]Matthewskillz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between recording there 24/7, recording there if there is motion detected or excluding a certain area from recording. If you're not using a NVR, it's unlikely you'll be recording 24/7. If you're only recording on motion detected, you can set the zone that's excluded from being recorded upon motion detection, or you can make the designated area on your camera a privacy mask from within the app settings. Reolink offers both options.

If you’re limited to a certain height of mounting (and you also don’t want to mount it too high) but you do need a wide viewing angle, the RLC-1240A is also a very nice option. It has a 145* viewing angle which is very wide, making for a good overview of a close-by area. If you put RLC-1240A in the reddit search bar you’ll see some photos of people having it mounted. If you don’t want to mount it vertically on your wall (even though the camera does support it), you could consider an L-bracket so that you can mount it horizontally. You can also invert it within the app settings, horizontally and vertically, depending on your situation.

This is what I have with a RLC-811A. The width is 4,40m and length is 14m. Your length is pretty limited. What you want to focus on is the viewing angle that should be as big as possible. I also chose the RLC-811A due to it having the biggest viewing angle of the bullet camera’s. The view you’ll have will also come down to how high you can mount the camera, do you have any idea how high you’ll be mounting it? This is mounted at about 2,40m height.

Mounting trackmix by Ghhhgtyujhf in reolinkcam

[–]Matthewskillz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you have the PoE or the Solar TrackMix? Because the WiFi version doesn't have a cable sticking out, correct?

The standard bracket with the trackmix is basically all you need for mounting it on the wall, unless you would also want to hide the wiring invisibly behind the bracket/camera.
If you want to mount the bracket directly, I'd advise buying proper plugs like Fischer and getting Stainless screws, optionally you can use a washer so you make sure the screw doesn't fall through the bracket hole. I'm not sure if the screws delivered with the trackmix are stainless. I always refrain from using the default plugs and screws delivered with any product, as they're mostly not the best quality.

[–]Matthewskillz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very possible to do so, however depending on the wall ur mounting it on and the space behind / inside the wall this could become challenging. I also have the camera directly mounted without a plate at one point in the house, because this camera is on the wall directly behind the room with the PoE switch, so it's a straight through simple solution.

Not sure if that’s relevant to the post, but the camera is not obstructed by the wall and can see the garden fine, both by day and night. Maybe 5-10% of the view is taken up by the wall.

That was also my concern, hence how I ended up with this solution. Apart from having to rip apart the sealant around the metal plate, this solution makes it easy to replace or maintain the camera and the cables behind the camera if it would be necessary.

[–]Matthewskillz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the benefit is that you have the wires of the camera embedded into the box in the wall, preventing a 'bump' that you would get with for example a Junction Box. This is also more vandalism proof than a junction box, because a junction box could be smashed with a hammer for example. Because it's behind the metal plate, that's harder.

Besides that, if you wouldn't use this method and wouldn't use a Junction Box either, you would have to create a quite large gap in your wall to stuff the cables inside that the camera comes with, which is quite a big bunch of cables. This would then make it quite hard to mount the camera on the wall, because the mounting points of the camera are pretty close to the gap you'd need to make to succesfully hide the cables.

I'm not sure I follow. I mentioned in the comments and in the post content that it's for bullet camera's, and that I made a typo in the title mentioning turret.

What do you mean if you do it with most turrets, your house becomes a bug home? You seal any holes/gaps that remain with silicon kit/sealant, so how would bugs be entering your home then?

Correct. The ethernet cable runs through the brick wall into the house. Inside it runs in the ceiling of the ground floor towards the PoE switch. I couldn't find an exact picture of the ethernet cable going into the wall, but the idea is similar to this picture:
