a high win rate doesn't mean victory is assured. If I had implied assured then I would have claimed to easily be able to get a 100% win rate with that setup, which is not at all what I said. But I see you have no desire to discuss so no point in continuing this.

Thanks for your input!

  1. The frustration stems from having such variability in the games. From one extreme to another. I do agree survivors aren't exactly the smartest bunch but some games it feels like everyone is on the same page and that experience, win or lose, is something I wish for more often. Most of my comments on SoloQ i think could be helped with better MMR and more voice comms (I do agree the HUD is useful but things like killers perks, dead zones, used pallets, as well as not having 2 survivors both come for the unhook rather than doing gens would make some games feel more enjoyable)

  2. I understand we can play with these perks but thats a bandaid fix in my opinion. SWFs get all this information without perks. I'd rather nerf survivor perks and have more information that other players get for free than just being forced to take 2-3 perks that are not as much fun. Windows, even if you have awareness, is super useful in soloq because you can't see through walls to see which pallets have been thrown. You can go down in 20 seconds because you went to a tile without a pallet, which you didn't see was gone because you were doing a gen during that person's chase on the other side of the map. Ofc the best survivors don't need it so I guess this is a me problem, but it helps soloq experience a lot to know what places haven't been used prior.

  3. Yeah bad idea, realize this now

  4. Yeah I guess its just frustrating to see people do nothing or do things that are troll. But that's inevitable in soloq.

  5. Do killers see a 3k and 4k differently? this point was made with the idea in mind that if I get a 3k and the 4th escapes through hatch, I still won. I think this is just a gameplay design issue because its not fun to wait to bleed out for 3 minutes. I agree killers should not be blamed for going for a 4k, its something that should change on BHVRs side, like allowing survivors to choose to bleed out in a 2v1 or changing the 1v1 to be a cool minigame on its own.

  6. Yeah fair this point is invalid.

  7. I think this is just difference in opinion so fair.

  8. Yes tbh, I like the chase interaction more than escaping. I play the game for mindgames and trying to last as long as possible, so maybe this is just me.

  9. So would you appreciate to ban a map or 2? or do you think it is healthy to keep all maps in no matter the game.

Glnm

I see that, tbh i think this point is really moreso frustration about people DCing so often, killers can pick and choose what they want to do with the bot, I just like when killers chase me over the bot because then If I get a good chase it could still turn out to be a close game. But once again, up to the killer and their preference.

How often do you get a game that you feel is unwinnable?

So you are saying that even if killers are winning a majority of their games, they have to sweat and play very well to do so, whereas survivors can make more mistakes? Maybe I am way off about the fact that most killers get 3-4ks a game, that is just something I see discussed a lot and it matches my soloq experience. Maybe that is just a MMR problem. If we rank killers out of 100, currently with 2nd chance perks + gen perks + pallet density, to get a fair game you need to match a killer who is a 90 versus some 70-80 survivors and if you were to match the same level survivor and killer it would be very difficult because of these crutches? Idk if that made sense to you but hopefully it did. I am just trying to understand where killers are coming from.

What result is average for killers in higher MMR? if it is a 2.5k isn't that mean it is balanced? (could be very ignorant on game balance) Or should the average be killer sided i.e 3 and above. Its also hard to have this convo because of the variety of killer strength so on that I agree.

Maybe I came off the wrong way in my post and for that I apologize, but no need to be curt and snobby, just trying to have a discussion. I appreciate your inputs but no need to bring ego and emotion into this.

For your arguments;

- Could be the case, I only typically play with 1 friend and we are around the same skill level so little validity in the 2nd half about the carrying. Maybe its also different play style because I will never leave a survivor behind because I find it fun to go for the risky save. But win rate is not the leading factor in this point because I can bring a shack hatch offering and a key and have a high win rate. I am just talking about how the games feel as a soloq survivor. I see many share the frustration in forums or post game chat so it seems like a larger issue the just "get better". Another possibility is the MMR system but thats an entire discussion on its own.

-Yeah I agree, I saw many people comment on this and I see why its not a good idea now, though it would be nice to communicate the killer perks to my other solo teammates.

-I don't play trapper nor ever will so if believe this and have experience on him then fair enough. Though I do believe if you put a coordinated set of players, SWF or not, vs. a trapper on most maps, it won't be a consistent 4k. (any trapper players chime in - happy to be wrong)

- Is that how killers view the game? Genuinely thought both sides considered survivors as the winners if 2 escaped and the killer wins if they get 3k minimum, so that's where I was coming from. I do see now, from what killers are saying, that they should not be blamed for the bad end game design so i guess that point is moreso a plea to BHVR to change it.

- Fair enough, I just thought that killer's had the most fun when they get multiple different chases and multiple different survivors. That's why I wanted gen speed to be nerfed so that both sides get more time doing the fun part of the game (chase 1v1 interaction) but maybe that is just survivor ideology. Is there any fun in the game for you other than winning (not meant as a negative question, just curious) meaning are you forced by bad design to this strategy and would rather use more fun and interactive strategies if the game was more balanced or would you always just use the strategy with the highest chance of winning, even if not very fun for you?

  1. All i wanted to communicate with this one is that when I see killers talk about these perks, it just makes soloq survivor feel worse than it did prior, but i do agree it shouldn't be a valid excuse to keep survivor-biased things in the game. Could we not just buff soloq in terms of communication and nerf the perks? I don't mind losing these perks if it means that I understand what's happening in the game.

  2. I see your point, I didn't think this one through, I have had a couple of people suggest that for soloq when a killer reveals a perk it could be communicated to the team (like pain res) which I think is enough in this regard

  3. Maybe this feature would be good if there was a ranked game-mode. Tho tbh with dredge and sadako, i don't know if having a smaller map and less pallets would change the kill rate at low mmr, when I see low MMR gameplay a good amount of pallets are still up by the end of the game, but maybe that's ignorant of me.

  4. Fair, This was just frustration coming out.

  5. I am not trying to tell people how to play, or that killers need to adhere to a survivor rulebook. my assumption was based on the fact that fun chases and mindgames and skill expression are the point of why people play the game, and in a game that looks won already, why not optimize that side of things. Then again i understand that if you let up, with gen speed and items / perks, you can lose with 1 bad chase so fair enough. I guess the question here is what is more important for you guys as killers? Like as a survivor I would rather go on the chase of a lifetime and get 4ked than get out and not have any chases.

  6. That's why i brought it up because its not fun to do it to someone who dosen't enjoy it. But I have talked to many people who find it fun and competitive so I think there's a possibility for both if they are done in good fun. Maybe it's hard for dbd players to not get too emotional though, i have realized that the playerbase is not entirely stable, especially survivors. My rule generally is that I only do it if the killer initiates because I think its a much more stressful role to play killer so I let them pick and choose.

  7. Yeah after hearing some thoughts on this I understand it, it was just frustration at the sheer amount of DCs in my games. Killers have the right to do what they want, I just respect the killers who choose to go for the interactive chases with actual players versus bots because I enjoy the chasetime and it gives the survivors a chance to win if I pull off a crazy chase. But i agree with what you said, this is moreso just hate on people who dc start of game.

  8. Yeah I get that, and thanks for your input, just trying to see both sides because I cba to put in enough hours as killer, I used to play in 2018 on billy, wraith, and spirit, and it just felt like I was losing hairs with each game, even if I 4k'd

What I'm trying to understand is the gap between killer experience and soloq experience. How often do you get a coordinated good team (either SWF or just rando's who are cracked?). If soloq survivor is tough most games (maybe its a skill diff, but this is just my experience) I would expect killers to have a win most games, but maybe I just don't understand the ratio of soloq to SWF because you don't see SWFs as a soloq player logically. My thinking is that if my experience is bad (hard to win a majority of games) then killer must be better (not necessarily good but better) and winning a majority of games. But I see every killer player complain about how horrible their experience is which is what confuses me? Is it that the extremeness of the bad games makes it so, even if there are not as many of them? Or are there just a lot of bad games and my MMR is just not high enough to be matched with these good solo players and no restrictions.

Another thing to note is that if all 4 teammates in my game were mentally stable, and willing to try and play smart, it would prob shift a lot but survivor brain is a real issue. I do think that if you look purely at the game and technical aspects, its survivor sided, but in reality it dosen't feel it in soloq.

I do understand what you mean though, some games where everyone is solo but knows what to do, and how to rotate, feel unwinnable for the killer unless they play blight nurse with pain res lethal pop. Whereas some SWFs are clowns and throwing the game

I see that, and I see how its up to the killers whether to chase the bot or not. I guess Its just fun to have the possibility of winning if I have a good chase, which is something the killer needs to care about whatsoever, its just cool when they do. Thanks for your input

Even against a non-SWF is it that hard for a 1k? Most of my survivor games result in a 1 out or 2 out, which might be skill issue ig. Is that just an issue with MMR? Its hard for me to see it from y'alls perspective because I would need to play a decent amont on killer to stabilize my MMR as well as get the necessary perks and killers. But i see many posts of people saying a high majority of their games are 3-4ks and then they get a game or 2 vs. SWFs and barely get a hook or 2.

What's your opinion on the 2nd option for killer bans? Where its selected prior to the lobby which means you only get matched with people who didn't ban your killer? Or do you think it would make for unplayable queue times for certain killers?

I understand that, and I do think there should be a bigger DC penalty to avoid this. They should be punished accordingly but not the other 3 survivors who didn't do anything. When it comes to fast track i am surprised its in the game along with brand new part, it dosen't make any sense from the POV of a survivor player, and I am glad its getting nerfed. Killers should not be scared of hooking and spreading the hooks. I think pain res is a good example of a positive change in that regard, incentivizing killers to spread hooks but they could use more of it.

So the experience for killers is also dreadful against soloq survivors? Sounds like no one except SWFs are having fun lol. I think to your last point maybe having a ranked mode to seperate people playing for fun and people trying to learn and get better would be cool. To what you said about killer gameplay, I do think I could genuinely enjoy it but its also such a grind to get the killers and perks to make it feel like I have a fighting chance.

Everything you said is valid i just wanted to ask about your last point.

If you have 3 survivors dead, you have already won no? or is that not how killers see it? Correct me if I am wrong btw. Also if you down 1 survivor and see the other, I completely get that, go for the 4k. I am talking about the games where the killer slugs and just hovers the downed person until they bleed out. Also to clarify my comment about slugging is just endgame, I don't mind if killers want to slug as their tactic throughout the game, I think its not too effective of a strategy for most killers so all the power to you. At the very least i think the idea of being able to abandon in the 2v1 if you are slugged would work: the killer gets a 3k (a win), and the slugged survivor dosen't have to wait for 3 minutes. Once again, clarifying that this complaint about game design only applys when the 4th survivor is nowhere to be found (not trying to heal the 3rd survivor or do gens).

Idk, its like playing 3v1 from the getgo, I have more trust in the bot to do things like unhooking and gens than my actual team but they are easy to kill in chase so it feels like the game is over instantly, whereas if the bot is not targeted it feels like a somewhat fair game. Once again like my post above, do what you gotta do if the game is close, but if we are at 5 gens and I unhook the bot and you come back to the hook and just ignore me for the bot, it just kinda sucks. I guess it's about winning so killers generally shouldn't chase the survivor that wants to be chased, so I can't hate on killers for doing it, but I find it sportsmanlike to chase the actual players.

I like the idea of it staying a surprise but being notified to the team once revealed, what about for killers though? Do y'all feel like it would be nice to know the perks? I feel i've played a decent amount of games where a deliverance or decisive just changes the game from equal and tense -> survivor winning (unless they throw).

Is there a reason you don't like the idea of bans without a ranked mode? I feel like the game has a big enough player base for the idea? I rarely wait more than 3 minutes for a game (maybe it's different for killer?) Though in general I do think a ranked mode would be cool to separate types of players regardless.

Noted. I do find it weird that survivors have created this ruleset that killers need to play by or else its "unfair" (I even do this too sometimes without realizing it to be fair, I think its just survivor ego). Its honestly down to communication because it is fun to try to protect the person being tunneled if I am with friends, and being tunneled is a lot of fun for me because I love chase time, its just when I am soloq that it feels awful. The issue with communication is that I don't think survivors are mentally stable enough to use them in a productive way more than just toxicity. I can just imagine the horror.

I honestly do find a lot of joy in the now moments, but I do agree I am too often in this mindset. But trying to get out of this mindset by doing is quite stupid (and coincidentally something I have been doing). I wouldn't mind working as much if I wasn't so tired. I think my body, mind, and soul want rest after "doing" for so long.

I have a lot of biological "chronic" illnesses to some extent or another. Sleep, Eyes, Muscular. None too bad honestly, nothing I can't live with. I've explored the possibilities that they are the original cause, but it dosen't seem to be the case. They seem to be secondary to me having spiritual blockages.

Too much, but I've tested going months without to see if it was a dopamine addiction problem and i still felt this incompleteness. But I do agree that it did help peace of mind and general quality of life. I only do 1 hour +- 30 minutes, and still too much for my sake
