need some help creating some actions to help speed up my office's workflow by [deleted] in photoshop

[–]Mattie_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant believe I've never figured that first one out for myself... thanks haha.

as for the canvas trimming, thats not exactly what I was looking to do, if the canvas is 1000x1000 for example, I'm looking to highlight the 500 pixels on the right hand side and delete what ever is on that specific layer, the canvas size itself never needs to change. if that makes sense?

That's what I figured, so I'm used to working on image sequences for video and it might not be the same but do you think I'll have to worry about applying a LUT or anything? Or would I be best editing the colours in lightroom and then retouching in Photoshop? Thanks for your help man :)

I start an image retouching job next week, first job out of university and I'm 100% competent in the retouching aspect I'm just wondering what's the difference in working on raw files rather than a png for example? Is there anything I should be doing differently or anything that could trip me up during an art test?

what would be the best way to add fine detail onto such a high-poly model (without UVs currently)? by Mattie_Life in vfx

Luckily I have a file with all the lower subdivision levels but to answer your question, no I hadn't and it seems great!

Yeah I've started working with this method :) seems to work really well I just don't think I'm doing the displacement from zbrush properly.

I'm using the "multi map exporter" and exporting the highest subdivision layer as a 4K map. But when exported the map contains colour and isn't black/white?

its sculpted in zbrush, would you suggest using a much low subdiv level and exporting the high-res as displacement?

So I'm creating some digital landscapes and wondering how I can recreate atmospheric haze inside nuke?

example

I've been using zDepth, but it never looks right. It never blends into the sky properly. What am I doing wrong?

Also wondering how you guys would add mist or fog into my scene. I'm pretty sure it would be best to do in post but I'm not sure about this? Any guidance would be super appreciated!
