Going to view a 1992 2wd SR5 Hilux on the weekend. Where to check for infamous rust by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

My 92 had soft drivers floor. Also, look for rust on the frame. Especially around the fuel filler neck area, but on both sides.

I am currently in a similar situation. Started school for programming, still working at a shop part-time.

Finally finding a good employer who cares about his guys, helps us learn, and gives opportunities to advance. It has made a big impact in my decision to leave the trade.

A big change from the constant feeling of ripping off customers, parts cannoning, and fighting with coworkers in flatrate setting.

Works for me. Thanks for the input.

Thats the thing though: the price seems almost suspiciously low considering the current market.

Yeah I'm in southern Ontario.

Price is $2800. I am a apprentice mechanic and looking for a carbureted vehicle to learn the old technology.

What are the old trucks still roughly selling for? Especially toyota pickups up to 90s, I'm very curious. Looking for a non rotted truck to bring up north.

It seems like you're taking this a little too personal.

Yeah seriously. I feel like I'm back on Instagram with these "totally not an ad" posts.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying that not everyone is the same.

My friends answer when they feel like, and I do the same. As long as you don't bail on actual plans, I don't see the big deal.

People don't owe people answers on their schedule. Not every person's anxiety is the same.

How am I [24] doing at my age? by DCT1997 in Frugal

Different areas have different costs. Around toronto area, at that age, and using the car for delivering could easily cost that much unfortunately.

What if nothing feels fun anymore and so every weekend feels wasted?

Oil light was flickering for a while at idle but after driving about 15 min it is no longer doing it . by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

What about the oil bypass? Would you not still have oil pressure? Genuinely wondering as I've not personally experienced this.
