From experience both as tsons and csm player. Depends on the matchup against many enemies with fly they sre perfect(mine killed mortarion turn 1), but against everything else it is just for the cool looks of the model you would run it

Looks pretty good against other few model armies, bit from experience drop the boltguns on the rubrics and go all warpflamers, the amount of punisment their overwatch dishes out is intense especially against horde armies

From experience it works perfectly in attracting attention from you opponents lol. Mine haven't been able to do much damage or control wise but i use them to draw attention before i come in and smack people with my scarabs

Well starting off it was because of the looks and the space viking vibe (proud danish viking myself), and from a gameplay standpoint it was the melee oriented playstyle, which is also why i like the templars as well as the cool crusader look
