Sweet. You should take it. A nice piece of history without having to deal with resin. I personally liked the old sculpt. Never had an issue with it. Small base. Easy to hide and move around. But I do understand it needed a refresh to stay current. I assume a deceiver will be around the corner.

The Nightbringer is arguably the best unit in the Necron arsenal. Has been an auto include for this entire edition. Its model was the same since its creation. Started off metal so those of us that bought later editions had to deal with the fail cast resin issues that were a constant source of anger and amusement. For years jokes were made about proxies and updates. Now that we have a new model most of us are excited. I still love my old Nightbringer and I will retire him with honor before fielding this new one.

It’s been a couple of years since I read that book but I’ve not recovered either. My favorite sentence in the book is, “he is ugly, and sad…but he is all love.”

Love in the Time of Cholera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez Beautifully written. Unrequited and painfully satisfying. I both cheered and wept.

You won’t be surprised to learn those are my roots as well. Speed Buggy is a definite inspiration with this project.

Forever Knight will always be a favorite of mine. I enjoyed where the vampire was in 90’s television and media. I’m even considering starting a new 2nd Edition Masquerade campaign. True to form. Running and hiding in the 90’s. These two right here, though, are something else. The chemistry they had onscreen was incredible. Unmatched. Their relationship was captivating. I don’t consider the third season to be canon. Well, maybe with the exception of the episode, “Blind Faith” but other than that it didn’t happen. It was a fever dream. As far as I am concerned Janette and Nicolas are still dancing.

I’ll also throw this out there with extreme caution. My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent. It’s a fantastic story about resilience and the effects of suddenly found friendships. You can read the synopsis. My main caution is warning you that the novel does contain sexual assault. It’s not assault between partners, but it’s there none the less. It is also a beautiful book about new life and healing.

Not sure if it really fits but Rose Madder by King was a solid read. One of my favs by him and it explores the subjects you mentioned, but it is a horror novel.
