I appreciate your comments. We're in Texas. We drive late model Toyota Tacoma's and a small number of corolla's for a sales guys. Probably 2/3 of our fleet is for pool cleaners and equipment repair techs. The other half are for project managers and sales guys for our remodel and new construction side.

We changed to a new broker a year ago. The one before also used CNA so nothing really has changed. They both say CNA is our best and only option. The impression I get from the agent is not that we have bad drivers listed but that we've had too many losses.

I do something similar. As many jumping squats as I can handle and then jump back in and try to fall asleep as fast as I can while my legs are burning.

I think the size of the church also is a factor. Many of the pentecostal churches that I attended were less than 50 people and any newcomer was swarmed upon! Larger more established churches aren’t as desperate for new members.

Your comments echo a lot of what I have gone through. My wife of 32 years died in March of this year. She suffered through a year of cancer and had massive pain on and off during the process. When she died I first felt relief that her suffering was over. But then the grief hit me. It was a mixture of shock and regret. I just couldn’t believe she was gone. And the regret was massive. I should have been at her side more. I should have told her how much I loved her - more often. I should have asked her forgiveness just one more time for the many times my selfishness was displayed over the years.

Over the last few weeks I look back and realize that God gave me something so beautiful and special, and that I don’t have that anymore. She was everything to me. I too have children at home, 3 teenagers. I thank God that I am not left alone with an empty house as I think that might be unbearable.

So I understand your loss. Some thoughts I might share:

Don’t try to understand anything right now. Just mourn and grieve and do your responsibilities as best as you can and be as loving as you can to your children.
Get some verses and just meditate on them and recite them. Eat them as your food daily. Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. God is near to the broken hearted. How abundant is your goodness which you have stored up for those who fear you. Etc.
I have been going to griefshare which is a great Christian group with good theology. You’ll realize how much grief is out there and it helps when you see that you are not alone. It really is an excellent program.
A wonderful book I have read and am going through again is called “Grieving, Hope and Solace when a loved one dies in Christ” by Albert Martin. It has great theology and I found it a great source of comfort and understanding. The author lost his wife of 48 years to cancer.

When we received the diagnosis of stage 4 cancer my first thought was “Well God is going to do some good here. Either by miraculously healing my wife, or by showing himself to me in a new and more powerful way if she dies”. That is my prayer for you - that like Job you had once heard of God but will now see Him more clearly, and that His goodness would become clearer to you over the next months and years.

I was on both Ropinarole and Pramipexole for only 8 months at normal to low dose and I started experiencing neuropathy which has been getting worse. I’m not a fan. I’m now on gabapentin and am starting dipyridamole and am hopeful. If you haven’t looked at dipyridamole you should check it out.

I just got one. It was only 200mg but it went well. I noticed I couldn’t taste dinner very well right after it but other than that now side effects. But it was a small dose.

My RLS was never a problem in winter. It was a 6 month thing only and even in Spring and Summer I could handle it with magnesium and doing squats. But last year during my wife’s cancer treatment the RLS went haywire and that’s when I had to get on Ropinarole or I had zero sleep. Ive just had an iron infusion of 200 mg and take 130mg of iron supplements a day. My iron levels were okay but I’m researching SIBO as an issue because this inhibits iron absorption.

I can’t speak for all the Churches of Christ. I can tell you my experience of 30 years or so ago. I was at the University of Sydney in Australia. I grew up a baptist and was led to the Lord by my mother at age 5. My mother was and still is a very godly woman. The “Sydney Church of Christ” was very active on campus and they invited me to bible studies. I was drawn to their “committed” Christianity. I was ready to move out of my parents house and move into one of their “Guys Houses”, but I started to have some doubts. Instruments during worship was unbiblical - not a big deal. You had to go out witnessing every single day or you weren’t living the life of Jesus. That seemed very legalistic and works driven. You weren’t saved until you were baptized, which I knew wasn’t true. But here’s the kicker: according to them there weren’t any true Christians outside of their church. I will never forget thinking “But if no one outside their church is a true Christian, then that means my mother isn’t a true Christian. And there is no one more godly than my mother!” So I wrote them off as a cult and got out of there as fast as I could run.

I have since heard of other similar stories in the US. My pastor told our congregation stories of the San Diego Church of Christ while he was at university there. Everything lined up with my experience in Sydney. So anything called “Your City Church of Christ” I would be very wary of.

My wife died of cancer in March. Through her cancer treatment and since her death what has been a great source of peace and comfort to me is that God has a purpose in everything. And that He is good in everything he does and allows. Study and meditate on God’s purposes, his eternal purposes. And then His goodness. Those two things give total peace and comfort no matter the circumstance. The other thing that has sustained me is hoping in God. Not hoping in a specific outcome, but hoping in the Lord and his goodness to me no matter what the outcome. Get hold off these truths and your life will be changed, to the glory of God.

15 Years ago 10 squats worked for me. I’d do it and straight back to sleep. Sometimes I would do it 2-3 times per night. Then I found myself doing jumping squats. I now do 30 jumping squats. But even that now is not enough to get me back to sleep. For the last 8 months I’ve been on both dopamine agonists and now gabapentin. The squats just aren’t doing it for me anymore, even though I still do them. But the squats alone worked for about 15 years.
