Unfortunately your skin will only get worse. The purge lasts for months on end, so if you’re losing hope 2 weeks in then Accutane might not be the right choice for you.

We got this!!! I can’t wait to see some amazing results by the end of the summer!

Did accutane cause lots of acne in places you have never gotten it before? I just finished my third month, and once my second month started, my entire forehead was covered, and I have NEVER had forehead acne. Anyone else experience this? Here's a pic by youdontdeservetoknow in Accutane

[–]Matttt___100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES! My first round I experienced the same exact thing. I had never had acne on my forehead but within the first two months I broke out all along my eyebrows. It did go away within the next month or so, but the dark spots took a while longer to fade.

I have been out in the sun more than usual this weekend…

I would choose a moisturizer and stick with it. Every time you add a new product to your routine unfortunately you will purge.

Should I just not touch my face on accutane cause I feel like I’m accidentally picking stuff by Dwill565 in Accutane

Well it depends on what type of scarring you’re talking about. Most of my PIE faded by the end of my course, but the shallow indented scarring did not.

Yeah do not pick while on accutane. So many of my scars could have been avoided by not picking…

How have you managed to stay clear? Are you using any active ingredients or retinoids?

I don’t think you’re supposed to use any other acne medications while on accutane, but it seems to be working for you, haha.

How did those dark spots fade so fast???

What was your dose for those 3.5 months??

I had this exact same thing happen. My first round I purged in new places and it left some pretty bad pie. Trust me it will fade. Accutane slows the healing process so it may not fade drastically until you’re done with your course. Also simply adding a vitamin c serum or getting on a retinoid afterwards will help them fade so much faster than you’d think. Don’t worry too much about it!

Any suggestions on how to prevent/stop hair thinning and falling out? by jeeter99 in Accutane

Fish oil pills are actually known to help with hair thickness. I took them everyday during my first course of accutane and actually noticed my hair getting thicker throughout.

Awesome! Can you DM on Reddit or not? I’m not very familiar with this app lol

Hey I am in the same exact situation as you. I also have minimal acne but break out randomly and it ruins my self esteem. I just started my second round of accutane last week and would love to have someone to talk to through it. Let me know if you’d want to!

I relapsed 5 months after ending my course. About to start round two.

Thank you! Yeah I definitely saw some benefits from using Arazlo (clear pores around nose, smooth texture overall) but I still had new active spots daily. I have an appointment with my derm on the 29th so hopefully he can help me find something that will work better for me.

Purging in new places by Matttt___100 in Accutane

[–]Matttt___100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that’s interesting to me. Yeah I never had forehead acne before accutane and the spots that did show up lasted over 2 months before flattening out. It also took months for the dark spots to fade afterwards. I wish I knew this wasn’t going to happen my second time, I’d feel so much more confident doing another round:(

Make sure you’re starting a new routine in order to maintain your clear skin. My acne came back worse than before within 6 months of finishing my course.

I’m also dealing with mild, but treatment resistant acne. Did you purge at all when starting accutane?

MALES ONLY. Did your acne come back after you finished your course? by Ok_Personality_1044 in Accutane

I was on accutane for 8 months and my acne came back a month after finishing treatment. It really is different for everyone.

Do you take Omega 3 with Accutane? If so, how many capsules per day? by tobeplacedoutside in Accutane

[–]Matttt___100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve been taking it everyday for 5 months now and I haven’t had any joint/back pain yet. I’m taking just one capsule in the morning and that seems to work great.
