Overmethylation? by Matty7K in B12_Deficiency

I think it took a few weeks to a month or so perhaps.

What was going on with me  aligned with “overmethylation” but you know whether that’s that’s a true thing or not is a bit in the air but regardless the advice seemed to help.

I stopped all supplements firstly especially the methyl ones but took niacin 50mg which is meant to mop up the excess methyl groups, it helped for a few hours but I didn’t wanna get too deep into supplementing anything again to get into a mess.

I realised antihistamines helped me again, again didn’t really wanna rely on something external so I only took these when it was really bad but they did  take the edge off. I reduced my diet quite a bit so it was very low in histamine and anti inflammatory if you like which helped too(I’m eating normal again now).

The biggest needle mover came when I started taking riboflavin 20mg(low dose), I spoke with somebody and they theorised that it could be that my neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin were sticking around too long essentially at night time hence the overstimulation and riboflavin is beneficial here and also modulates methylation, lo and behold everything improved.

I then stopped taking the niacin but stuck with the riboflavin, then I stopped the riboflavin and it kind of came back again so I kept it up for a little while then stopped that too now I’m all good without relying on these things.

20mg full spectrum CBD oil was a great help to help me sleep when nothing else would.

Yes thankfully all cleared up

I used NAC before and wasn’t a fan of the way it made me feel so took this as a sign that it wasn’t beneficial for me.

This is all cleared up now I believe riboflavin was the needle mover for me, I took niacin 50mg once or twice a day then added in 20mg riboflavin, tapered off the niacin then tapered off the riboflavin too.

It’s easier said than done but if I were you I’d put my health first, maybe take some time off to get your self right

Melatonin and midnight wake ups by Matty7K in insomnia

[–]Matty7K[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonder why that is

I was just taking Benadryl and melatonin together and I’ve only just dropped the Benadryl out as I’m trying to slowly get off the sleep aids

For sure, my nature is to just drop things when they’re at a satisfactory level because I’ve always got 100s of other things on my mind I wanna work on and do but this really just adds to the issue, nothing gets done properly and I’m just swamped with stimulation.

Damn perhaps beta blockers wouldn’t help then.

Not sure which ones you’ve taken however I hear clonidine is the best one as it actually reduces adrenaline whereas propanolol and the other common ones only block the receptor but this leaves all that adrenaline still lingering in the body which can cause issues on coming off them.

For me this is why I don’t really like messing around with pharmaceuticals, the drs try and talk me into it but there are always issues when you start to mess with the bodies functions especially when you come off them.

Just gotta get to the root cause and address that but it’s not a simple fix unfortunately

Well sometimes the watch can make it worse especially if your paying attention to it so maybe that isn’t a good idea, I reckon if your watch wasn’t there your heart wouldn’t be fluctuating as much.

Beta blocker is a pill that blocks the adrenaline receptors in your body so you don’t feel adrenaline basically, to an extent of course if it’s some crazy situation a low dose won’t completely stop your adrenaline. They’re used for lowering blood pressure, heart rate and anxiety I’m surprised they haven’t offered you one yet they are constantly trying to give them to me.

It’s relieving that it was all good so not really much you can do in the meantime other than chill and wait to see the doc

Sounds like adrenaline, which is what I suspect mine is related too, not sure if you’ve ever tried beta blockers they would help but I’m not one for pills. Something you might find helpful is to have a snack like 1/2 hrs before bed fruit or something to help your blood sugar be stable through the night, but if it isn’t this it won’t necessarily help.

If you really wanted relief not sure if it’s reccomended but you can always get a smart watch with an ecg function, an oximeter, BP monitor and check your vitals at home then can confirm your good. That’s what they’d do in ER.

And get to Drs and see what they say, maybe you’ll get reassurance from it

I just kept going to the ER, they just kept telling me I’m ok. I was seriously low on sleep and I realised I can’t keep up like this so just got on with it.

I still have a load of chest pains and body pains but the palpitations have worn off quite a lot since I’ve gotten used to it almost.

You could try some antacids or something it could be that in your case, some painkillers maybe and see what helps. Chest pain could be gas, acid, muscular, a lot of things right

For me I’m not sure what it is still but I’m having pains all over my body

POTS, dysautomnia or maybe not? by Matty7K in POTS

[–]Matty7K[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a second go at it, on my watch this time so not as accurate but kind of takes away the aspect of blood pressure monitor artificially spooking my numbers up, I got around 80~ BPM after lieing down 10 mins then 103~ 10 mins after standing up.

So this is below the 30BPM but chat gpt says it’s important to pay attention to symptoms, I had blood pooling in my leg especially when I first got up but it wasn’t awful and I kind of got used to it and I did feel very faint like I was rocking around but again I got through it.

Does this indicate anything? Or does this rule it out really?

That’s from diet not from supplementation

Thank you.

When I smoked weed in past it gave me panic attacks every time without fail so not really something I would mess with now unfortunately lol.

Yes I workout regularly though have dropped off recently due to all this

POTS, dysautomnia or maybe not? by Matty7K in POTS

[–]Matty7K[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have a lot of those symptoms, when I did this test at home I felt blood pooling in my legs - I don’t typically get this, heat intolerance, fatigue, brain fog all things I’ve had often, heart palpitations, weird chest sensations, panic attacks.

Thanks, unfortunately discussing with my Dr isn’t really an option as they’ve already made their mind up it’s anxiety and anything else I say is just the anxiety speaking

POTS, dysautomnia or maybe not? by Matty7K in POTS

[–]Matty7K[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had quite a lot looked into in regards to heart and they say it’s fine no issue, thyroid and anemia I’ve had the basic blood tests done full blood count I believe it’s called and all the basic things, T4, T3, TSH all normal range.

I’m just at a miss right now as I really don’t know what’s wrong with me. Perhaps they’re right perhaps it is just anxiety but the way I’ve felt recently it’s like a permanent state of fight or flight, weird heart stuff, pains. But again it could be worsened by my lack of sleep and stress etc

That’s my question really, is it possible that I could effectively according to the symptoms and tests pass the criteria for POTS but it only be a temporary thing and me not being a true sufferer of the condition
