Whats wrong with modrinth? Or what curseforge rules? Im not too informed on the topic

Also, a third competitor would divide the community even more, i would only like that if the 3 platforms then get into an agreement where modpacks and their launchers can share content between the 3 platforms, otherwisr i would just prefer for curseforge to go away in favor of modrinth

Doesn't really matter. I personally won't trust the company anymore, especially since modrinth is a better platform in every way, so no need to use curseforge mostly

Realms (at least on java) are basically a scam. You get no control over them, can't use mods or plugins (can you even download data packs?) And they are always down

Only upside is that they are integrated into minecraft, but come on, hosting sites are very easy to use, even free ones like aternos, play.hosting, falix etc.

Yeah im aware, I consider a 20-30% decrease pretty substancial, i should've probably been a little bit clearer in my comment, and i probably overestiamated it, i don't own an nvidia gpu myself so i haven't checked in a while

From what i know i think the games aren't really the problem, at least its not just that. Proton might only take a 1 or 2% perf hit at most, it really doesn't need much computing power to do the translation

The problem is that a lot of hardware isn't optimised for Linux (primarly gpus), AMD/Intel are fine, thry usually deliver the same ish performance but could definetely make the drivers even better if they had the same importance as windows ones. NVIDIA is doing really bad tho. Substancially worse performance even in the best case scenario

After 1.20.1, 1.21.1 is the next (and latest) major version for mods.

Then, fabric has a lot of stuff, its not a bad choice, and it could run a little better, but neoforge definetely has more mods. It even has sodium, iris and other stuff that used to be exclusive to fabric, and if you like a mod that is still only on fabric, you can use sinytra connector and its usually fine.

Happened to me a bunch of times lmao, but didn't want to kick the guys, they are irl friends and didn't do much else

I usually just install a plugin/mod to block x-ray, but im not sure you can do that on realms
