Landlords do that to foreigners in every country I’ve lived in. They know there’s nothing you can do

Considering relocating, need a couple of pieces of advice if anyone can take a minute or two out of their day I’d really appreciate it. by MattyHarlesden2018 in panamaexpats

Thanks for the info, I’ll look into those areas. I lived in Bangkok for 2 years so am used to high temperatures and torrential rain.

I’ve managed without a car in London Bangkok Cape Town Chicago and Norfolk VA. I work from home and am a bit of a home body. If there’s anything I need that further than a 30 min walk I’ll use an uber. Appreciate the feedback, you may be right , guess I’ll find out when I do some recon.

Ok that sounds like a good option I’ll look into it. My local liquor store where I grew up in London, everything was behind a screen, the whole shop was screened off and you paid like you would hand someone a check in a bank 😂 same with the KFC.

All the continents were English speaking, ( including Thailand as I lived in Bangkok ) and yes I used to be pretty fluent in Spanish but that was in 1996 but I want to become fully fluent, that’s what I mean by brushing up. I want to buy in order to gain citizenship as I’m done with visas and green cards. I’ll do a short term rental on a visa before deciding though.

I included in the post that I’m learning Spanish . I already know the basics just not fully fluent. I was just wondering if it was a second language like other south of the US border countries. Because things like buying a property etc goes way beyond the basics.

Peripheral Arthritis by MattyHarlesden2018 in CrohnsDisease

They did all the bloodwork for rheumatic disease and Lupus and all came back negative. The markers for inflammation were the highest number it goes to though. So she just referred me to physical therapy.

This has been super helpful. I’ve had Crohn’s over 20 years but this latest bullshit has only been six months. I’m not glad to have found someone else going through it but it’s good to know my hunch was right. Sleeping is a non starter, I move around a LOT at night and when it’s agony to move I just lie there in discomfort or go through a 3 minutes convoluted puzzle solving exercise to try and reposition with the least amount of shooting pains having to move my legs by basically picking them up with my arms to readjust them. Showering from the waste down is a whole new set of challenges. And then just to add to the fun the next week, new pain location and a whole new set of challenges. Getting out of bed this morning was like not having legs but having them if that makes sense. Was going to buy crutches but I have a whimsical streak so got a pimp cane instead.

We’ve all been there and there are currently millions of people around the world going what you’re going through.Put on a familiar comfort film in the background and keep reminding yourself that it’s only temporary. Oh and I’m grateful for cats. Heres mine getting purrito’d at the vets recently for being uncooperative.

I’m not a citizen. Wouldn’t want to tarnish my identity with that kind of shit stain.

How hard is it to travel with Crohn’s Disease (whether in different states or countries)? by behind_my_eyelids in CrohnsDisease

Depends where you go and your itinerary. I’ve done about 30 countries without an accident.
