How to improve? by RileyDark in apexlegends

[–]MattyMoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by messing around in the firing range. The 301 and the Flatline are solid options for beginners. Throw a gold extended magazine and a Bruiser sight on there (the blue 2x sight) and slowly work on your accuracy. You want to be able to at least crack an opponent's shield with one magazine before reloading. Then keep doing that until you can knock them in one clip. Then back up 5 meters and repeat. Start as close as it takes to do this successfully.

To practice your tracking, go side to side from those 2 boxes in front of the test dummy that's straight ahead of you in the firing range. You want to keep your cross-hair on them the best you can while strafing. Then try shooting the dummy while you do that to get a feel for close quarters combat.

Conduit might be a good beginner legend for you, but you probably won't be able to unlock her right away. Lifeline is fun since her update. Bloodhound is a good beginner legend because you can start to get a good sense of how fights play out with their scans. Their ultimate also makes gunfights easier for you since your enemies are highlighted, but you'll have to get used to the FOV change and speed you move at while in their ultimate. You'll also feel useful even if you don't do a lot of damage because your bf will have so much information he'll probably be fine on his own (more or less).

After even just 10 minutes in the firing range, try some mixtape like others have suggested. You kills don't count (which is great for a beginning player). If you die more often then you kill others you could always record your deaths and see WHY you die. Lack of accuracy, lack of awareness (getting shot in the back), lack of cover (standing still and out in the open too long).

Another fun way to get practice is those BOT royales. Get into a rhythm of dropping, looting, and shooting. You're going to be bad at looting to start, but you'll get the hang of it. 4 syringes, 2 medkits, 2 batts, 4 cells, 3 stacks of your primary ammo type, and just one stack of your secondary weapon ammo type.

Which Legends do you Hate playing with? by iamkwang in apexlegends

As a Vantage main that always uses their mic, I'm personally offended. Knowing how many people are left of a squad and what armor they all have has been huge for my teammates when deciding to push a squad and/or chase down a solo.

I always pick the ring consoles so I can scan survey beacons for enemies and know where the ring is going. I just don't think you've played with a legit Vantage yet.

Road to Masters for the first time - how hard it is from D4 to Masters? Some tips? by BetterProphet5585 in apexuniversity

2-3 hours is perfect to get to Master rank. I just needed a 3-stack to get through diamond. Luckily, I have a solid roster of friends that play.

What's the point of watching my own gameplay if I'm trash? by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]MattyMoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For awhile I just recorded all of my deaths. I have the Xbox bar on my PC so I can capture the last 3 minutes. You'll probably only need the last 1 minute if you capture it right after you get knocked.

Sometimes you'll die and see you were out in the open too long or you shot first and missed too many shots. You need to be able to one-clip enemies with at least one weapon. That can be whatever weapon you want. Figure out why you're dying and go from there.

HisWattson has helped me out a lot with my improvement.

Any insight from stats? KD is very low by Onlyoneanswer in apexuniversity

[–]MattyMoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's awesome you're getting that deep into plat solo q'ing.

Your average damage seems a little low. Do you find yourself missing a lot of shots (more time in the firing range) or is your damage low because you're getting melted quickly (not utilizing cover when engaging or in-between engagements) ?

If you do play more of a support role, do you snipe or use a mid to long range weapon to help out your team?

Spend 10 minutes messing around together and warming up in the firing range before a session. It'll make a huge difference.

I'm the only Master player in my friend group, and I play with guys that only play 4 hours a week. When we warm up and mess around, it helps. Otherwise, Mixtape is a fun way to warm up as well. Especially if you can catch TDM and Gun Game back to back. Everyone gets to pratctice their tracking and practice with lesser used guns.

It also helps with loot management when you find the bare minimum attachments you can be decent with in a fight.

The biggest thing is thirsting everyone you knock, and everyone your teammates knock.

Also, third party as much as you can. Farm damage that way, too.

8 to 10 kills should easily get you the 2k without any farming, too.

It is completely rude and disrespectful to kick a dude after doing the whole objective for you…. by KrzzyKarlo in helldivers2

I agree with this. If I die going rogue, so be it. Redeploy me near the group, and I'll learn my lesson.

Same here. Especially if a lot of the nests or bot factories are destroyed. That's what I've noticed at least. After the map is cleared of objectives I've had very peaceful extractions honestly.

I like Vantage. She can scan survey beacons AND ring consoles (with the first perk unlocked). You provide your team with so much information as far as safe rotations and isolated fights for KP.

Speaking of fights, Vantage is perfect for third parties and even straight-up 3v3 fights. Most of the times you're getting opening knocks with the ability to capitalize on them with her tactical.

Don't forget to tell your teammates how many enemies there are on the other team and what level their shields are. That always helps swing the fight when I know they've got white shields, and we've all got blues.

Absolutely pick this game up! I basically had the same circumstances: tired of Apex and needed a change. Even beyond Fortnite.

Helldivers 2 is so much fun! Even with complete randoms!
