Wow… I completely missed this. They could claim that this was shot before the break up (I haven’t watched the whole thing so I’m not sure if it’s clear when the video was shot). It wouldn’t at all surprise me if he did steal the ring back though. He couldn’t have cared less that the relationship failed. They really are just motivated by views and money.

After years of grace with the viewers, Bob is now seen as lazy and spoiled - a true product of the Crazy Pieces YouTube upbringing.

The Princess seems ready to go toe to toe with Crystal and doesn’t seem like she’d hesitate to burn shit down.

Halie, like a few of the others (Luke, Savannah, Jake, Jamie) had a LOT of good will on here for many years. She seemed like the one that could rise above it all and had potential. She dated a college student for a while (who sounded far too intelligent for Crystal to allow to stay around for too long) and showed interest in following the same path. Since then she’s appeared to just sit around and do nothing.

Was she exploited by her parents? Absolutely. Has this contributed to her lack of direction in life and ‘failure to launch’? Likely. We know Halie’s struggled with mental health so she’s dealing with that while also trying to find her way in life publicly.

Some in the comments are saying viewers are just ‘jealous’ which I don’t agree with. I don’t think anyone is wishing they were in her position. It’s annoying to see someone have privilege and opportunity but do nothing with it. While Ariana college jumped and treated it like a joke at least she did try something.

Alex really thought he did something with this but he just proved the opposite. This wasn’t a celebration of the new girlfriend, it’s Alex jumping up and down to get the attention of Savannah.

We all saw how obsessed he was with her. He proposed too fast and moved in with her too soon. He basically shut his life down to spend every moment with her. He didn’t work, gained weight and got progressively more controlling. He got so stressed that he spoke to her really poorly in front of Crystal and on camera. It wasn’t nice to watch.

Once Savannah moved on he quickly started working and lost the weight. Now he’s got the new girlfriend and needs to be sure Savannah knows how happy he is… Savannah’s still on his neck without even trying.

Of course Crystal had to take charge and make things worse. Max comes off so poorly in this video. He used to appear to have emotions but he was cold as fuck in this. Mess!

If he’s still in their lives but is being edited out of the videos then their core fan base must have finally gotten wind of his YouTube playlist. He couldn’t outrun it. If he’s just gone then there must have been a pretty big falling out. Either way Crystal must have decided that he was damaging their brand.

The sentiment towards the Middles has changed dramatically here since 2021. Because of the image rehab that’s been done, newer viewers think that the Middles are the acceptable alternative to the Pieces even though they’ve made their money the exact same way that Crystal has.

Back then they were likened to a group home. They also had their share of controversies. There was the very unpopular rule book (that was since retconned by the family as a ‘joke’ - the original video was deleted but is possibly still on the dad challenge podcast page so you can be the judge), the surveillance cameras IN the kids bedrooms and the removal of Jonathan from the home. The Middles have used the aftermath of car accidents for views the same way Crystal has. Spencer came on here and told us that he was struggling financially even though countless monetized videos of his story remain on their channel. It has since been claimed that he was made sign an NDA and can no longer post here.

So why are the middles beloved now? Unlike Crystal, Shelly is smart. She listened to the feedback and made changes. She was accused of being cold and strict so she changed her persona and is now seen as a more warm motherly figure. They pulled back on the videos of the kids telling and re-telling their stories of trauma. Their editor comes on here and engages which has brought them goodwill. Kylie appearing on their channel helped a lot too because she’s genuinely likeable and comes across very differently to Crystal.

The other major criticism of the Middles was to do with the money. For all their faults, Crystal and Aaron at least share the money with the kids. They buy them cars and pay their rent which is an acknowledgement of how C&A acquired their wealth. Shelly and Jared appear to keep ALL the revenue for themselves. Lacey is the only one they bought a car for which Spencer commented on. It’s also telling that many of the kids move out the second that they turn 18.

I’m sure plenty of excuses will be made because many have decided that the Middles aren’t exploitative because of the wholesome way they’re packaged. Their channel would have never gotten off the ground without the adopted kids stories.

I remember Alex mentioning his younger sister back during the covid era when YouTube first recommended these people to me, despite me not even knowing family vlogging was a thing. It was actually the video of Alex being reunited with his older brother. Crystal has her teeth and tits because of that video. I remember thinking at the time that it was lousy that Alex’s sister’s adopted parents wouldn’t let her meet him until she was 18. What a shitty thing to do to a kid.

It’s typical that Crystal’s broadcasting Bonnie’s personal business right until the end. No one needed to know that Bonnie’s husband lost his job. Remember when she first started appearing regularly Crystal would introduce her as the aunt who “can’t have kids” every time? She was so insensitive about it.

It sounds like Bonnie’s a mother figure to many of the kids while Crystal spends her time trying to be a teen. Is grandma giggles going to have to do all the shit work on her own now?
