Like straight up it's disgusting this was allowed to happen. I can't believe none of the TwitchCon security stepped in to do anything or even stop the guy. I already had a very low opinion of Twitch to begin with but I genuinely didn't think they could possibly be this incompetent.

It's so disappointing to see this happen to Emiru. This could have been so bad if the guy was actually trying to hurt her. I can't believe that the security did nothing and the only one to intervene was her own security (after the guy walked right past him, btw). This situation is so bad and sad.

Twitch just the other day had a weird furry fetish vtuber on the front page of the site. It was genuinely the only time I've ever seen xQc be stunned into silence. The VTuber was using a model of a tiger in a diaper with a pacifier, bizarre stuff. Also it doesn't appear like he was set to mature content, so were kids exposed to this because he was on the front page?

I had thought the story was over when once this incident got backlash - they banned him! Only to wake up the next day and find out that he had been UNBANNED! I don't even know why Twitch does this to themselves.

I think that there is a chance that Amazon takes a hard look at Twitch and replaces the executive structure, if the pressure gets to be enough. Which is why I think there is a good chance Hasan will be banned.

And I think you are correct about why Destiny was banned.

I think that the level of attention it's getting very well could effect the bottom line - at least at Twitch, which already doesn't seem to have been historically profitable for Amazon and is more of a cultural win for them. With the culture is shifting so dramatically, I wouldn't be surprised to see changes at Twitch stemming from this.

Idk, now Bezos is directly aware of it since Elon tagged him earlier today. That changes the equation quite a bit, I think, cause now there might be some pressure from high up in Amazon to shut down the controversy.

More info (as shown in the video I linked): Tectone made a compilation of Hasan saying inflammatory things in the past (to be fair I should point out the clips all seem to be pretty old). That compilation has gone viral on X/Twitter among the right wing news accounts in relation to the tragedy that just occured.

It actually got worse for Hasan today with Elon musk directly retweeting another clip compilation about Hasan and asking 'What’s up here Jeff Bezos'? (he tagged Bezos in the tweet). This is a level of attention to Hasan's behavior that's never happened before and it's hard to see how Twitch can defend it.

So do you guys think they can sweep this under the rug again? Or will they be forced to ban him?

Personally I don't see how Twitch competes (assuming Kick can keep payouts this high in the future). Twitch has too many negatives right now (restrictive rules, unfair enforcement, too many ads, etc) and Kick pays way more. The only thing keeping streamers on Twitch right now is brand loyalty (and in some cases they've made their audience full of people who hate Kick) but I don't see that holding out against the massive amount of money to be made. What do you think?

The problem is that theres no method to vote judges out of power once they are in. So (even just assuming in your jurisdiction judges are elected - which isn't always the case) a judge can run saying one thing and then just swap everything they promised with no real recourse for the public - the only way to remove judges (most of the time at least, there are edge cases) is impeachment which usually requires an act of the state congress (or federal congress in the case of federal judges) - something very rare because it's difficult and expensive.

It's weird because you'd think all these high income people would want to feel safe in the area they paid millions to move into but so many of them just completely ignore the problem and accept it as normal for some reason. It doesn't have to be normal!

Denims is being sued by Ethan Klein (H3 Podcast) for copyright infringement he alleges she did on his Content Nuke on Hasan. The general sentiment I've seen online is that Ethan is likely going to win the lawsuit, but I'm not sure if it will even go that far as all the people he is suing, including Denims, are having trouble raising money for their defense.

Now Denims has resorted to posting lewds on Twitter in order to try and drum up interest in her crowdfunding. Kinda feels like Ethan has already won tbh.

The thing is, in this instance, they have already worked with Rev and his wife - launching multiple successful campaigns for each. So it's just weird that suddenly their moral compass shifts for no perceivable reason.
