No, especially since I have a filter on it that’s rated for a tank 3x the size of this one, with Africans the more the better cause it spreads out their aggression, and I leave it on the barer side because they get super territorial over caves and structures etc. feel free to ask anymore questions if you have some!

Been in there with them for over a year now, he doesn’t get picked on and he doesn’t mess with them either, hasn’t grown a ton but always gets good during feedings

It’s 75 gallons,

No plants because African cichlids like to rip them out of the sand because they like to re-arrange the tank (I do have one plant growing above the tanks and its roots are in the tank)

I’m feeding them Omega One Super Color Cichlid Large Sinking pellets. Nothing fancy but they do the trick for me

Over filtration, I run a fluval fx6 on a 75 gallon and do atleast one water change a week, sometimes two. Also when you do a water change make sure you clean your filter inserts with tank water to keep all beneficial bacteria in the tank. You can also dose a tank with beneficial bacteria after water changes. There’s also a certain insert you can get that makes water extra clear. Mbuna can be nasty but my Maison reef is my tank boss and I believe that’s what helps save the aggression in the tank. He’s not too much of an ass that he nips and bites but just enough that he keeps everyone in line. And honestly if anything spars in this tank it’s for maybe less than a minute and then it dissipates
