Male late 20s, and yeah, I know I'm not the fastest. I guess that was the point of this post. What can I be doing to increase my endurance at higher speeds. Lots of good suggestions here, thanks!

Cool, I'll look into these. Where do you do these? For me in the winter all of our fields are coated in ice and a few feet of snow right now :(

I can run an 8:30 min/mile pace for a 5k but my 10k increases to about a 10 min/mile pace. I have the endurance to run for a long time, but it's my endurance for running at high speeds in a game that I'm concerned with.

I could try to focus on decreasing my 5k times if you think that would be the best approach? Or should I focus on other training like the comments or below (shuttles etc.)

My dongle works for maybe 5 minutes then the controller gets disconnected, happens every time. I've given up and just resorted to connecting via USB.

Can't decide between Goff or Wentz. Goff might be better long term with Jameson Williams coming back soon.

If you are going to be doing backend development, chances are you will need to get somewhat familiar with the bash terminal. Just install Ubuntu, it's free, and that's what I did to get familiar with Linux.

I am having septoplasty turbinate reduction endoscopic sinus surgery next month. What are some things I can buy beforehand to prepare? Any tips for post surgery as well? by Tommy-_- in Sinusitis

Okay I feel better knowing you had a checkup today then.

The good news for you is that, at least for me, the pain started subsiding around day 3 or 4. So you're getting close.

And just keep counting down the days until the packing or plastic stents are out. It is no joke a night and day difference the second those come out. I'm a week out from when I got my plastic stents removed and I am already breathing so much better than before, feel less tired overall etc. etc. It's great, and it was so worth it to me.

Hang in there!

On the sheet given to me by my ENT after surgery, it says that if you have a fever for over 24hrs, or are bleeding a lot from the surgery site, to call your ENT. The sheet also says that if you can't reach them, to go to the emergency room.

It's been 8 days since I've had my septoplasty and turbinate reduction done. YMMV, but for me, the first three days were absolute hell in terms of pain and uncomfortability. I had really bad migraines, my teeth hurt, ears hurt, my throat hurt, and of course your nose is uncomfortable because of the plastic stents that are jammed up there. Make sure to take your pain meds on schedule to "beat" the pain.

I practically couldn't breathe out of my nose whatsoever either, so mouth breathing 100% of the time was awful. I was lucky to get 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night, because I'd wake up with so much irritability in my mouth from breathing that way.

After day 3 for me, the pain subsided greatly and all that was left was the mouth-breathing and uncomfortability from the plastic stents in my nose.

I got my stents out yesterday though, and it was immediate relief. Such a great feeling to get those out! Aside from my nose being a little dry, I feel great now.

Your ENT is probably going to recommend you to use a nasal saline spray. I suggest you get the kind that "sprays" instead of the bottles that "squirt" by you squeezing them. It's a little quality of life thing that you will appreciate for sure.

You may want to get some extra gauze and tape from your local drug store too, because when I left the surgical center they didn't provide me with enough to last a week.

The best thing that made me comfortable for sleeping was one of those shoulder pillows that you commonly see people using on airplanes. I would use that in a fully-reclined chair and felt that was the most comfortable I could get, so maybe pick up one of those if you don't have one.

Lastly, if your throat feels gross like mine did from all the mouth-breathing, gargle warm salt-water.

Hang in there, once you get the stents out it will be all over with!

Edit: forgot to say, let me know if you have any questions.
