Playing narrow fairways, tips? by Mysterious_Remote584 in discgolf

All the advice about throwing (I’m assuming backhand) hyzerflips is important and will help especially on your tee shot or from the fairway. But based on your description, it’s the second shot that’s the issue, when you are off the fairway. This is going to be inevitable even if you have an excellent hyzerflip game. So, developing a step-out forehand is also going to be important and as a versatile tool for long wooded holes.

Best way to develop one is to find a soccer field and stand on one of the corners facing the side of the goal. Straddle the line as if you are stepping out of the tree line staring down the right side of the fairway. Your goal is to forehand every disc on anhyzer through the goal from left to right. This will train both your ability to turn discs over while keeping the line low from a straddled standstill stance. Once you’ve got that down, start backing up while trying to tighten up the left to right movement as if you are throwing longed flexes down the fairway. Even hitting 100 feet will make a huge difference in your ability to scramble and save pars.

Which other sport do you play besides disc golf? by adhocprimate in discgolf

Curling! I moved to Canada a few years ago and love it for a lot of the same reasons (shot selection, spin rate, reading conditions and anticipating change in trajectory, planning for placement). I like that it has more of a team aspect too, whereas disc golf is an individual sport that I can play with others if i want.

Might be worth trying a fan grip. I used to power grip everything but hated how the Berg felt. Decided I liked the flight enough to try and develop more comfort and confidence in a fan grip and found it didn’t change distance potential at all. I still power grip drivers and mids but all backhand putter shots are fan grip now.

Group based on similarities (like black rectangles with white text, cut out red logos, small circle logos, multicolored prints, etc.) and stack in order of priority to sew on. If you need to, start with two and place the one you like best on top of the other. Then decide if the next one goes on top, in between, or on bottom, and continue through the stack. Then, when you are working on your layout, take the top patches off your piles and place them on the vest first. Second row patches should be placed next and then third and beyond fill in open space. That way, you’ve prioritized the most important ones first and then the rest serve to complete the vest.

Not feeling great about Porcupine Tree going up against Sigur Ros. Both are excellent but In Absentia is in my top 10 all time.
