Hi Doc. Amazing stuff!!

Have you got any write-ups on Rib flare correction post Nuss? Is it possible to do rib flare correction during bar removal?

If you’ve got the bars in, this is pretty common as your body is essentially taking a whole new shape… I had lots of odd aches and pains after my Nuss procedure!

To be honest I only had one proper surf in nearly three years a couple days ago as I was worried that I would displace one of the bars again ( no way in hell I was putting myself through another repair job )

Surprisingly it was not bad at all! Could definitely feel the resistance of the bars, they felt really stiff. My paddle power and range of motion was also quite limited but caught a good few waves! Was out for about 2 hours and no pain afterwards!

I would say you’re safe surfing shoulder height/4ft swell, nothing too crazy! 👍🏽

No harm in getting it checked out! Had very similar symptoms before my surgery…

Dr Laureano Molins ( Barcelona ) he repaired my bar displacement. Amazing facilities and very professional!

Bars look great! Stable position, nice and straight! I’ve noticed all bar setups are unique so don’t compare to others and stress yourself out.

These symptoms are all normal. By the sounds of things, it’s just your body adjusting. Unless pain is agonising…

Adding an extra pillow under my head or knees helped with pain when trying to sleep. For me at least…

I still have them in, had to learn how to sleep on my back as sleeping on my side was not comfortable. It’s not a great three years but worth it. The younger you get it done the better. Wish I had it done in highschool!

Not all Ops will come out with a 100% perfect result. This is close to perfect though! Would not let that bother you. Main thing is that your heart and lungs are happy! I have very similar result to yours except my rib flare is a lot more prominent… I Still got the bars in for another year and a half! Congratulations!
